Spot on, the same reason those in postions of priviledge come up weaponise anything they can to push back against equality being achieved (see the reappropriation from black language of the word woke), they fear others gaining will be mean them losing agency, not realising that is not how a society works and grows. Sociopath is 100 percent the correct term for such folk.
