Marr’s right about Governments often running their course and running out of ideas, making change becoming inevitable.

In 2010, it felt kinda inevitable that Labour under Brown were getting kicked out, and there wasn’t even much pushback or complaint from Labour supporters (in my memory, at least), following 13 years of government, with an Iraq-shaped cloud hanging over it.

Obviously since then we’ve had austerity, Brexit, Covid, and most recently a voluntary tanking of our own economy, so it probably wasn’t the greatest move for the country, but the point being that it feels a bit like that sense of inevitability now, that even Tories are seeing the writing on the wall.

Whether you like Starmer or not I for one would love to see him bring his experience and expertise in law and investigation to scutinise Farage, mentioned in that link as the most effective recent politician, Banks and any connected to Putin/Russias actions to destabilise our democracy, Brexit and Union, as well as the transatlantic alliance.

They all have been receiving money from Russia, or Russian connections, with a belief in hard right nationalism. Look into the whole Cambridge Analytica scandal and the way they won the Brexit referendum and they are all involved. A-holes all of them, it's about their own wealth, they don't give a [Poor language removed] about the countries, they say they do but in reality we are all liberal pinkos and their hatred goes deep.
