And that's a big problem for them. All the parties should be stepping up right now to present a coherent competent plan.

I also have no idea. But they occupy the centre ground so should logically have more appeal than Labour especially after veing in coalition as "junior Tories" nit too long ago. If they are not targeting being the main opposition at the next GE, then that's a staggering lack of ambition.

Indeed. They seem to have won a few byelections by default as the most likely "non Tory" party, but in terms of proactively campaigning and being a voice for an alternative I have absolutely no idea.

Any coherent and competent plan would also need to be reported and covered by the press. Doubt any paper or TV network is particularly interested in having a lead story of labour/Lib dem policy proposals.

Sunak was always the smart play. He comes across as quite obnoxious, but could have ran the country steadily, and kept them in the ballpark of being competitive at the next election.
