Turned out nice again.

Labours lead is consolidating in a wipe out territory.

2 additional areas of concern for Tories:
1) 10% for Lib Dems. In the context of Labour likely winning, that gets squeezed.

2) In a way that is very tactical. So Lib Dems vote might go to say 7%, but be very concentrated to take seats from the Tories.

The surprising thing in that poll is that the Greens and SNPs lost a little support. Given that the Tories face a rout, I see no reason why Green and SNP voters would waver.

The current legislation relating to General Elections is here: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2022/11/contents/enacted

There will be a GE by January 2025 at the latest. If there is one before that, it will only arise by way of the PM requesting that the King dissolves Parliament, and with the current polling being this one-sided I don't see Truss taking that option any time soon.

Conventional wisdom would be that given the lead is so big for Labour that would follow. I think at times though there is a league so big, people just cement in getting the Tories out.

A lot of the SNP vote was an anti-Tory vote too, so can easily transfer back to Labour.

They have also dominated their countries politics for 3 elections now, so sort of makes sense some support peels away.

Now No.10 orders a “line by line” review of Crazy Kwarteng’s mini budget following further market turbulence. Truss throwing him under a bus.
They literally do not know what they are doing.
Clearly, Truss and Co have done more harm to the UK by just being in charge for a few weeks, than Putin has done to Russia with the entire extent and duration of the Ukraine war. Makes you proud to be British, dunnit?

I'm a Tory party member, as are dozens of my friends and family members. The chap in the video has just voiced my beliefs and values, and those of my friends / family. We're all appalled by Truss, and if you want to go diving through the vaults you'll find me being critical of Braverman back when Labour didn't even know who she was.

Genuinely find it sad that the strong left STILL just automatically label anyone centrist as a right wing zealot. It's so polarised, so black and white, so simplistic for the extreme left, because their entire identity is defined by hatred of anyone who dares think differently to them. Equally, extreme right-wingers are every bit as intolerant.

But there are dozens, if not hundreds, of sensible centrist MPs in both the Labour and Tory parties: I'd take a Labour government led by someone like Dan Jarvis tomorrow if the Burgons, Lammys, Rayners and Thornberrys were consigned to the backbenches where they belong. Equally a Tory party under Sunak or Badenoch is immediately more enlightened and centrist than Truss.

Cue all the jibes about "you can't be a centrist if you vote Tory".
I am not a Conservative but can certainly agree with you that those moderate Conservatives have been demonised.

The vast majority of people are decent, fair, just and honest and seek the best for themselves, those close to them and to society as a whole. As per the man in the video.

Right now, the opposition parties should be showing those values and appealing to those that have been let down by the ineptitude and sleaze of the current Conservative government. The Conservative Party would also be wise to cull the current mob in government and start working on this as well.

It's not an ideal situation that most political victors, of whatever stripe, assume that once in office they only really need to govern for their core voters or those that got them there, when the reality is that they're governing for everyone, even those that didn't support them. That "should" encourage a degree of moderation, but that seldom happens.
