It's a lose/lose.

Seemingly anything anyone does is virtue signalling and 'wokey' nonsense, but if you do 'nothing' you're a hypocrite.

His mate, whose been led astray by his vegan bird (I bet she doesn't like being called a bird either mate!) has literally changed political parties - but we should also apparently dismiss that as a credible way of generating change
Where you off to tonight love
Just going to meet my good mate FB92 in spoons
Is he the one that calls me a ‘bird’ and us ‘wokies’
Aye that’s him. He’s sound though and does a lot of charity work.
Well ok then. Hope he doesn’t give you another lecture on American slave ownership.

Would make a cracking TV show....

Day 83 in the Rwandan house. Suella is stressed about today's torture task. Here she is at breakfast telling Kwasi that he better bring his A game to make sure they get all this weeks groceries..
Kwasi is reviewing the household accounts and things aren't looking good. Meanwhile Priti gets a nasty letter from the tax authorities.....

The issue for me is that people tend to have short term memories. Just look at Boris and the ups and downs he had.

I fully expect, 6 months before a GE, a range of sweeping support measures, increases to welfare, reductions in tax will come into play. Which is what was being planned by Bojo and Sunak as Sunak was going to raise costs for a while before reducing them as per above timeline using the reasoning of covid and the war in Ukraine. (Let's not forget that energy prices had steeply risen before the war in Ukraine)
The polls will 100% narrow. Always does. Even did for Corbyn.

Up to now household incomes of the comfortable middle have held steady there is no way the government and particular this one is going to step in and rescue mortgages and private pensions. They should have planned better will be the mantra.
And course interest rate is causing havoc on small.business, I know of two small holiday sheds let's (log cabins things) near me are now on hold as banks have pulled their original financial backing and now unfavourable terms on business plan, imagine that's multiples by thousands across the UK.

Does he?

A legacy of Cameron's big society perhaps.

Is this just a general statement or do you have anyone specific in mind.

The reason I ask is because, for a significant amount of time, across the UK, we haven't had 'wokeys' in a position of leadership.

Similarly, I'm curious as to why you think awareness and championing of an issue is 'doing nothing'?

Likewise, I'd point to protest, but I know you're not keen on disruption as a means of driving change.

You've highlighted being vegan in almost disparaging terms, so presumably you are disregarding that as a means of personal positive action.

I'm curious as to what you actually think people should do to create change?

Veganism is an honourable way of living... but like a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, in of itself its a nice thing but it often attracts wrong'un owners.

There are too many people on the left who like the label but dont practice what they preach. You can attend BLM protests and knock down statues but I guarantee thats done nothing to help BAME in the UK.

Trying to keep things on topic here - you look at the Conservatives and you get many of their voter base claim to be "proud to be British" but what have many of those voters actually done for their country?

You've been suckered in to the rat race of culture wars imo and whilst the Tories leadership is shockingly bad what hope do we have when the people behind the other political parties and at support level are just as morally bankrupt ? Truss and the Tories have to go but I can't see a magical wand that solves this once great Islands problems.

When was the island great? What made it great?
