I'd much rather the government spent what it takes sensibly than to superficially lower tax whilst loading more debt onto my shoulders, and selling off assets that require me to pay more to use in the future.

In fact if we are going to refight the "war on waste" then they really need to start on their sacred cows (PFI, contracting, defence housing, the government advertising budget etc) rather than the areas they've thoroughly picked over these past twelve years. There is ample waste to be found there, after all.
