He’ll be back again. Waiting around like a swamp creature and will launch a surprise attack.
Not only did he create this thread he has also posted on it with at least 2 of his later account which must be a bit confusing for him.
His theoretical philosopher self-creation during the covid times was by far his worst version. More shoe eating and less deep thinking next time.

Good post that mate. I think both Corbyn and Farage are idiots but I can agree with things both say whereas I bet some on here will discount 100% of either of what one believes because it doesn't fit their beliefs drilled into them by their respective communities.

Its like racism - the left/right use it for their own ends. If racism died tomorrow the left cant win votes from BAME communities claiming they're the party against "white privilege" whereas the right cant win votes scaremongering that "johnny foreigner" is coming to take yo job.

Once you nest yourself in the centre ground and "truly" become centrist you open your eyes to how blind the rest are.
I'll agree that the political left has as little interest in truly putting paid to racism as the right has in ending globalization.

Where I disagree is that I don't think the opposition is any better. The right gets votes from "dog whistles", and the left gets votes from providing more sound economic results for most.

One of the central ironies of democratic governance is that providing results sizable interest groups in a coalition want generally makes the party worse off. This is particularly true when it comes to social policy. Ask the Republicans how well overturning  Roe is going for them.

We see interest groups do well when they are small and the policy payoffs are large, because the results provide a lot of money to spend both on buying politicians' votes and messaging to convince the public that black is white. The collective action problem means that the broad opposition which is harmed to a comparatively small degree struggles to raise the funds to get the opposing narrative out there.

I don't think "centrist" and "did not do well in school" are the same thing.

In principle, centrism is taking what works from both sides of the spectrum. The problem is that it's equally possible that a "centrist" is taking what  doesn't work from both sides. We need a coherent ideology to emerge in the middle, but that's hard when any given political media outlet is entrenched in one of the existing sides.

It doesn't make financial sense for the existing outlets to provide a sane version of "centrism" a platform. Someone like Joe Rogan? Sure, they make money off it, and it doesn't threaten the rest of the business model.
I'm merely referring to the people who make a big song and dance over their so-called centrism on here. They tend to pass off their admiration of Rogan et al as being part of their wonderfully open mind and never-ending search for what is right and proper. If only we were so open-minded ourselves we might better appreciate their views...

I'm not criticizing what you said in any way. If anything, I'm elaborating on why we observe the result you describe.

If you were using bollocks as a collective that can't be numerically counted then you were correct anyway, more importantly you were spot on about the right wing appropriation of terms to discredit empathy in people. It's a sick ideolgy and their only attack is to move the argument to places of zero context or impact.
It's as if feeling empathy for someone else is a bad thing. I just don't get it.

The definition of woke is being "aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)" (Merriam-Webster). Or "woke, adjective: Originally: well-informed, up-to-date. Now chiefly: alert to racial or social discrimination and injustice; frequently in stay woke" (Oxford English Dictionary)

So if you are using it as an insult, you are naturally taking the stance that you either don't care about others and the injustice they are/have experienced, or you don't believe social injustice exists.

It literally is about being aware, or "awake". So if you aren't "woke" you are asleep or ignorant to what is happening (or un-informed as per the OED definition of it meaning well-informed)

To this end, I still can't see how it is an insult and why you wouldn't want to be woke.

A good example - a Green Party voting mate of mine who is very woke was astounded to know that in the days of slavery in the South of USA there were also black plantation/slave owners not just white. He didnt know that as they dont teach you that in school.

Im a centrist I call out the fools on both sides of the spectrum who believe only what they choose to believe.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Can we sticky this ?

So fracking then, only a go with 'local consent'. hmm, interesting. Isn't it a shame that the underhand budget last Friday wasn't considered in anyway for consent except for a bunch of stocks and share traders that jumped on the info and wiped so much value off our pound and into their pockets.

wheres johnson? fabricant? kwarteng? sunak? all of the truss front bench? get them all out in the media, on the news, Andrew Marr, question time, lets drag them over the coals, there are no explanations here, no rhyme or reason, this is the time for them to concede. they like the limelight, well, theyve earned it.

forgot something, damn.
