Insulting someone using particular terms without clarifying (or knowing) what they mean is different to pointing out minor mistakes in grammar that didn't change the understanding of it.

So yeah, what you did was a waste of time. What he is doing is attempting to insult people. Sorry for calling that out.
My gentle nudge asking for detail and accuracy = waste of time.

Your rather more abrasive demands for detail and accuracy = somehow more morally valid.

Please continue.

starmer is going nowhere unfortunately, he has taken the tories spot in the centre/right of centre and the people who make these decisions will be happy.
If the floating voters in the centre and right of centre agree with that assessment, Starmer's Labour should win the GE fairly comfortably.

I wonder if the Labour left wing's perception of where the centre and moderate right sits is the same as where those who identify as centre and right of centre do.

Already explained in my above post.

Me changing the words less or fewer made no difference to the understanding of what I wrote, so no more detail or accuracy was needed. I then explained why no more accuracy was needed.

Him continually trying to insult people using a particular term needs calling out. The reason that needs clarity is because based on its definition it isn't an insult, so he needs to explain how he considers it to be as its actually unclear.

Doesn't understand the difference between "less" and "fewer", gets annoyed at people spending time noting the distinction....

Spams thread repeatedly asking for a definition of "woke", after identifying as woke.

Sublime.
Grammar policing is proper Tory behaviour. Do you feel superior by pointing it out? This is supposedly a website dedicated to a working class football club so wind your neck in.

There's an awful lot of you demanding everyone aligns to your beliefs in that post, and a tone of intolerance. Unpleasant, although entirely possibly accidental.

Add in the sprinkle of hypocrisy already established in your previous, where you insulted me and then complained that another poster was insulting you, and your refusal to be open-minded in a fairly innocuous internet discussion... We're done here.

Amazing how a minor grammar error can make someone kick off.

There probably is like, but most fellow Centrists I associate with take a balanced view of both sides of the coin on matters whereas when you're dealing with those on the left or right you only ever hear one side of the story!

A good example is China - they are committing human rights atrocities, destroying the climate, hunting animals to the verge of extinction, not putting regulations in place for these barbaric and unsafe wet markets that seem to contribute to creation of harmful pathogens one in which has near tanked the world health systems and economies - yet the Left dont care about this unless its the West involved or the aggressor is white - people have Ukrainian flags what about the people of Yemen getting slaughtered by the Saudi's ? The Left dont say much there.

but that is an issue within itself isn't it? saying 'i'm a centerist so i'm always balanced and think of both sides on all matters' is exactly the same as saying all of the left think one way, and all of the right think the other.

it's completely flawed and as problematic as the issues you have with the left and the right (out of centre)

I also think the word bollocks was being used as a noun and in the context of nonsense it would be uncountable - a single, uncountable noun. I therefore, submit the original wording was acceptable.

Grammar policing is widespread in infant, junior, senior, further and higher education. Teachers of course being renowned for their pro-Tory views.

A mark of maturity is the ability to have a mistake pointed out to you and NOT immediately take it as an attack.

How about you have a think about those points and get back to me in a PM later.

You’re on a football forum you patronising meff.

Hardly a shock that you’re a Tory tbh.

You could have literally just described how you wrote your previous post.

I've never demanded anyone align to my beliefs. I've asked for a definition so I can understand why something is considered an insult.

You pointed out a minor mistake for whatever reason you felt it necessary, I then explained why it wasn't. I haven't insulted you, I haven't sworn at you, I've given an explanation. You haven't accepted that, and then made sarky comments such as the post you used "sublime" in.

So you are correct, we are done.

Not me.

Sunak was the correct choice, in the context of the decision we were asked to make. Although there were also other candidates who I would have preferred to see in the final two.

God knows what happens at the next GE - there's no guarantee Truss will last that long and frankly I wouldn't want her to. It's entirely possible that both the Tories and Labour will have different leaders in place before the next GE.

I can't see Starmer not being Labour leader at the next election.

I would prefer him not to be but I'm disappointed in myself as voting for him to be leader.

it's 2k22, no one cares about grammar anymore, and rightly so. it should never be uses as a mark of intelligence.

Centrists are less given to willingly restricting themselves to their own echo chambers, however. Those on the extreme right and the extreme left are more inclined to share a common refusal to even listen to opposing views. The mere act of suggesting that they might benefit from listening typically gets shouted down by tribalist accusations ("nazi", "Marxist", so forth).
True centrists listen to pretty much everything, and I'd venture that sets them apart from extremists at either end of the spectrum.
