I think she will surprise people. Like you I thought she was a lightweight and a poor communicator. But people who actually know her and countries who have worked with her seem to give a positive response. Time will tell of course, I still believe the conservative elite have just shot themselves in the foot by getting rid of Boris, but hey ho it is what it is….
any takers?

She’s the new PM of the U.K……
Sadly, yes.

I do agree with you about Tories shooting themselves in the foot, though. I reckon there were lots of centre ground voters who plumped for Boris at the last election, and who might still have done next time around, who will never, ever, consider voting for Truss (or Sunak, if it had worked out like that).

Sunak was a backstabber who would never have won. Truss was a loyal member of the Cabinet and stood with Boris. This will play well (no one likes a backstabber), and Starmer will continue to show that he’s an empty vessel. Boris would have battered him and I think Truss will too……

*De Piffle - he's shuffled off to grub his snout in the millions of quid he no doubt thinks he deserves, the self-entitled, law breaking, misogynist creep. Good riddance, and I hope this gurning, unprincipled, dishevelled mess of a man disappears back to the swamp from whence he came.

Certainly Sunak was a back stabbing tax avoider (perfectly legal though avoidance is), without even the brains to see that the tax issue would inevitably emerge and look terrible. Truss has political views that I personally dislike, plus a history of 90, or 180° turns in her views, so not likely to appeal much to sometime Labour voters who went for Boris for reasons around Brexit, levelling up, or personality (as far as I can see she has none).

I'm sorta with you on Starmer, though. Every time he says anything, you get the impression it has gone through multiple edits in his head before coming out of his mouth, so as to not alienate various bits of his party, or voter groups. Consequently, it's never at all attention-grabbing, and again demonstrates no personality whatever. Thinking I might have to vote for 'none of the above' at the next election. ☹️

lol I mean like Johnson was a back stabber previously as well. Am i missing something here?

I take it you’re not a fan then…..

He was one of the top legal minds of his generation wasn't he? The person he appealed to, whose personality he required was whichever judge of whatever day. A top professional in his field.

"tank topped bum boys" "letterboxes" "even the sex offenders support me", how have we been reduced to this? This isnt' a question aimed at you ghf, i'm just lost.
