They know the next election is lost and will now be looking at the most efficient ways of funneling as much public money as is humanly possible into the coffers of the private sector over the next two years. When a lot of them lose their seats they will be looking for new jobs.

You only have to look at the ammount of cash they are going to hand to the energy companies in order to freeze energy bills. It will be triple the cost of the Labour plan and be paid for by us in the form of higher taxes/energy bills for the next 10-20 years, rather than taxing the profits of the energy companies and the press will have us thank them for it.
