Tbh mate I think the Conservative Party knew fine well that it would be a disaster but that it was a "reasonable" cover story to explain how banking crises ammounts of public money could be siphoned off without proper scrutiny.

I’m not overly centered on what Welsh Labour and Scottish SNP are achieving, I’m saying the whole lot needs improving. These are critical issues and if it was Labour who had got us in this mess I wouldn’t

be making excuses, I’d accept that change was needed.

In work a few weeks a go a gentleman collapsed , couldn't move in one side of his body.
My mate and another gentleman got him onto a chair, turned out he had got out of hospital two weeks before for heart troubles.
After repeated calls to 999 no ambulance had arrived after 2 and a half hours, a friend of the man took him away in a taxi. He was OK as it turned out as he came back to thank my mate a week or so later.
The emergency services rang back after 4 hours to see if he was still there .
Shocking to think this is going on.

i worked in Government for close on 41 years, the service offering got increasingly worst under Conservatives then increasingly better under Labour. It was never better than the Blair years. It’s the way the cycle works, change is desperately needed.

To make it worst, Conservative leadership candidates are advocating cuts to public service to pay for tax cuts. That means things are not going to improve.

Strange isn't it that most other countries in Europe had a fully functioning test and trace scheme? Perhaps they're just not run by a corrupt right-wing caste who all went to school/university together who are more interested in favours and back-scratching to enrich each other than actually helping the public.

Those most in need won't be paying much tax anyway. For instance, the average bill is expected to have risen a few thousand in a year. To actually pay a few thousand in your entire tax payment would require you to earn over £20,000 a year. So even if they scrapped tax for a whole bunch of people entirely it's barely going to touch the sides.
