The Budget

On the whole Brexit thing, I was talking last week with the head of driverless technology at Volvo, and he was talking at length about the need for this technology to be developed collaboratively. It simply won't work if Britain has one set of standards, France another, Germany another, China some more. This kind of global cooperation seems increasingly common, whether it's for driverless technology, climate change, intelligence and so on. I'm not sure, therefore, why you'd want to say thanks but no thanks to being involved in that.

I appreciate it's off topic though, so yeah, that Osborne bloke huh? *waves fist*

Then vote brexit and you might have a chance.

The Tory government did ask for the NHS to be exempt from TTIP because there are privatised companies running all aspects of the NHS. US health companies have been increasing their share of the NHS contracts and there will be more US and European health companies wanting to get in on the act.

US firms look to capitalise as NHS becomes increasingly ...

Where this leads to can either be, privatised companies demand more tax payers money for providing health or an insurance scheme is brought in. Either way it is a disaster to the people of this country.

If the UK leaves the EU and wants to strike up any trade deals with the US, for instance, that opens up both markets, then the same agreements that are in TTIP will be in any 'new' agreement. In particular, the ISDS mechanism, that fines governments for laws that affect 'business' will also be an attachment to any agreement. As Canada has found out since joining the North American Free Trade Agreement.

On the NHS, this Tory government has no intention of stopping the shift of tax payers money to private sector health care. It has actively encouraged the privatisation of the NHS through the Health and Social Care Act 2012. The TTIP agreement between the EU and the US will not stop this and neither will the UK leaving the EU.

Osborne hasn't a clue what he is doing.

Growth
Revised down for 2016 to 2% compared with 2.4% at the time of the autumn statement for 2015 and 2016, and revised down to 2.2% in 2017 (2.5%) and 2.1% in each year after that (previous forecasts for 2.4% in 2018 and 2.3% in each of 2019 and 2020).

Furthermore, how can anyone take what he is saying seriously when even his predictions are so way off the mark.

Deficit
Set to have a surplus of £10.4bn in 2019/20 and then £11bn the year after.

RM Only last year the chancellor thought he would have a surplus of around £23bn to play with in this year. However, this was later revised down to £10bn. He is sticking to this target now as a result of further spending cuts".

??? Are you insane?
Without EU oversight there will be nothing to stop them going even more full on with their CLass War.
The EU is our only brake on the further erosion of our civil rights and liberties.
Also if you think leaving the Eu will somehow stop us signing up to TTIP then you're sadly mistaken, it would mean we'd have to sign it on less favourable terms as we'd be shafted without the collective bargaining that the EU would provide.
TTIP is terrible enough without making it worse

If your income is £100 and you're spending £200, then cutting your spending to £150 is still going to increase your debt.
Borrowed more in 3 years than Labour did in 13, proof Osborne has made things worse, constantly revising his forecasts as to when he'll be in surplus, next year we were supposed to be in surplus according to him in 2010, we are nowhere near.

Now now, you're just being naughty there. The Tories were rightly criticised for blaming the crash on Labour, as what they were doing as treating us in isolation. Had they said that Labour had left the UK in a worse condition to cope with the crash than France, Germany, America etc. then that would have more validity (I don't know if that's the case by the way, it was used for illustration).

It's the same now. How is the UK economy doing relative to those countries of a similar size to ourselves? How are we doing versus the French who have taken a different approach to us?

Otherwise it's like saying a hurricane just blew your house down and blaming the wife for spending more money repairing it than you did in the 13 years prior to it being blown down. Now if your wife was spending more fixing your house than your neighbours, you may have a case...

He puts that back at every budget, said we'd be running a surplus by 2017 when they first came to power, lies after spin after hoodwink.

Same as his tax avoidance waffle. Fell short the last 3 times he mentioned it. So of the £17 billion he said this time, what shortfall next time will be taken of those in need.

Sugar tax is the worst thing in history.

Changes to personal allowances and ISA's are welcome though.
