Tbf when you think of just how many guns are in circulation in the United States, disarming pretty much all of the population just isnt feasibly possible.
Though that isnt a reason to try, any guns not available to sociopaths is a good thing.
Stricter laws and totally stopping the ability for the general public to have any access to rifles or any military grade weaponry is probably the closest you're gonna get to a solution in 'Merica. And I severely doubt even that would happen.

With that mindset nothing will ever change. Laws are changeable, so are constitutions, people just have to be willing. Those that aren't would be legally required to do so.
Imagine a US with only the police being armed, it would be a totally different place. It would not happen over-night, obvioulsy, but they idea they just carry on killing each other rather thantrying is bizarre

it's really not daft, you see gangs in england and a lot of countries that have guns, funny that coz they are not legal. Seems criminals will find a way to break the law, who would have thought it.
