Or funeral expenses… Doubtful that any of these parents had insurance for something like that, and a lot of families don’t have that kind of cash laying around either.

Many of the same parents who have claimed for months that wearing a mask is traumatizing their kids are the same people who think it’s just no big deal that American schoolchildren have active shooter drills in the same way that the rest of the world has fire drills. It’s madness.

That unfairness is really something that should be made a lot more of - the 2A is obviously a huge bone of contention but I think everyone on both sides could understand how outrageous it is to be landed with a life-ruining bill as the result of a criminal act.
