Point is they told him to put his hands up! Then shot him a second after he complied.

Then lied abput it and covered it up by saying he had a gun in his hands when he was shot. They have now admitted they lied because the video was released.

How are people still defending this. If they knew they were im the right, why lie and cover it up? Because they shot an unarmed child.

The police have zero regard for the lives of black men. Im not saying they actively want to murder them but they are not bothered if one is murdered.

The more stories you hear and footage you see of the police in America, you realise that there are a large part of them that are disgusting.
You realize the boy wasn’t black right? This week a black man was killed in Minnesota, a white kid was killed in Maryland, and a Latino kid was killed in Chicago all at the hands of police. None of them should have happened. Period.

No but he was brown skinned.

I fully agree but there is a whole lot more restraint shown when white people commit crimes. POC's lives are not regarded with the same importance.

Well that's not true. GOT's resident Captain Hindsight Tubey explained the causal chain of events that led to each death. Hopefully these have been passed on to the grieving families and communities and any misunderstanding cleared up

You create a society where every single individual has the right to own a firearm - you create a law enforcement system where the officers are constantly one step away from shooting somebody dead

Sad but true
Tbh I don’t think it quite as simplistic as that. Canada and some of the Scandinavian countries have quite high gun ownership levels for instance (although admittedly not as high as US) but don’t seem to have anywhere near the same issues you’d expect if it was the only factor.

Simultaneously, the Texas House has moved to pass "Constitutional Carry" rights for residents of the state. In effect, anyone not prohibited by Federal law can walk into a gun show, purchase a gun with no requirement for a license or training and then walk straight into a school, a sports stadium, a polling station, a bar/restaurant or church openly carrying said weapon. No law can stop them.

Other than the gun lobby and right-wing blabbernutters - no one supports this. Certainly not Police Departments but even the powerful concealed handgun licensing lobby hates this bill because it effectively kills that multi-million dollar industry in this state.

Morons. Utter, complete morons.

I agree it’s a contributing factor, and it’s without a doubt worse in some areas more than others. I don’t however think it’s broadly as big of a factor as people make out based on the data.

Police know the shooter, he has known mental health issues, and he still rolls up to the airport with a gun in hand.

If you have that kind of background you should have no access to a firearm. How does common sense not win out here?

Because enough people have been sold and bought a lie about the Second Amendment relentlessly pitched to them by the NRA and the Republican Party.

Meanwhile, 8 people reported dead and several more wounded in a shooting incident at a FedEx facility near the Indianapolis airport.

Thoughts and prayers.

This basically. When your life is on the line going into work each day you will get people making rash and incorrect decisions. Doesn't happen in the UK as Police don't really get murdered at work.

Would love to know who is signing up for the police in USA in 2021. I wouldn't do that job for any wage.
