I think I have misunderstood it - thought it was someone has walked into the hospital and started shooting wheras I think it was someone who was shot who got themselves to the hospital.

Hopefully that is the case but honestly who could rule the first scenario out?

Read that earlier. Mad one. Good thing is it's all on the body camera. So they should be able to weed this one out. Also Ohio has its own state Investigation service so they will take over. The cops shouldn't be able to wriggle out of this if there is any wrong doing.

Just seen the bodycam footage that has been released (which is not all of it as I understand). I guess you can't make a full judgement on how he reacted until all the facts are known but the question it leaves me with is why didn't he just use his taser?

Tasers aren’t always effective is the argument. I think the general rule is they work about 85-90% of the time. If the other girl was in serious danger of direct harm, it’s a tough call to make. Haven’t seen the full video yet, just read a couple reports.

With tasers don't you only get 1 shot? Its also as you said sometimes ineffective and can take a second or two to work. I've seen the still images and it looks like her arm was already pulled back ready to swing - the video everyone is moving too fast so it's difficult to work out.

Very sad again though, apparently the girl rang them in the first place and ended up dead. This one is a bit more difficult in my opinion due to the knife but I don't think he needed to shoot her 4 times.

Just seen that girl got shot down attacking someone with a knife. What do people make of that?

This is a tough one. In my opinion, police have literally been getting away with murder for far too long. In this case however, the cop had a split second to act, and if you have seen the video, she was definitely in the process of stabbing the other girl. Should he have shot 4 times, probably not, but as i say, he does nothing and the other girl gets stabbed.

I often wonder why police don't shoot at the legs if the suspect doesn't have a gun. Maybe im overestimating how easy it is to aim at someones eggs in the heat of the moment, presumably that's part of the reason why they teach cops to shoot at the centre mass

I'd rather be shot in the head than have them shoot at my eggs.

I’m not sure as I’ve never actually used one and don’t know what’s out there, but you’d really think with where we are as a society technologically, someone would be able to develop a method of subduing someone that works at a 99%+ rate and isn’t lethal. Get on it smart people.

He could have tackled her as well. Plenty of other police officers with him to help subdue her.
