My brother lives in Texas, he knows the risks, and while he’s incredulous at many things the weather sways it for him. I’d like to move somewhere warm too, but somewhere where you are not subjected to this backward lunacy.

The only pity for humanity is one of Jefferson’s 600 black slaves (or one of the Native “savages” he had removed from their homeland) weren’t armed to stick a bullet through his forehead. Religion there is everybody’s business. The News presenters (people who are meant to....PRESENT the News), have invoked God (and prayer) in just about every bulletin on the latest gun massacres. This is what you are up against. There is no talking to these people, dead behind the eyes. You can’t converse/reason with people who are not grounded in reality. The sane percentage there (who have my sympathy) have no chance.
There will be another massive gun massacre around the corner (not the run of the mill daily ones where seven people are shot and two/three die...they are passé), there will be another race crisis around the corner (yesterday two white Texas policemen on horses pulling a black man with a rope through the streets...it never occurred to them, they thought nothing of it), and these things will continue to happen because a populous of ideologues won’t face up to reality. Without critical thought, you can’t. They can’t help it.
