Tbh i find myself agreeing with both sides on certain points.
Although i dont see why people think he shouldnt have got this season.
We needed one season where relegation wasnt anywhere near this club all season long.
I don't think he shouldn't have gotten it, that's way too black and white, and I'm more of a fence-sitter
My own preference for him not ever having to return to the club aside, I am just making the point that even if he "should" have been given this season it should be accepted that whilst he might have been a top option to give us a relegation scare-free season he wasn't anywhere near a top option to give us a happy fan base in our new stadium, as much as I think some fans think he was.
My further point has always been that if a fan base can't have a strong dislike of, or just be tired of, a manager after 10+ seasons without caring about all the context being given up, then when can they? It just seems entirely rational to me that he isn't popular amongst a large amount of us, and as such would get little patience.
Give us somebody 95% of us can get behind, and we can all enjoy it while making fun of the really impatient and entitled 5%
