Iraola would be great, but if he came in and had the same start he did at Bournemouth people's heads would've been falling off and he'd have been lucky to have only 40%
After 5 games yes, but not at this point, which was what the discussion was about. That's also why I specified that I was talking about if he had the results that Moyes has had here. The poll results aren't reflective of Moyes's 15 months in charge in this spell, they're reflective of his 25 years in management and his two spells here, people failing to understand that show a remarkable lack of awareness of the situation and why the discussion is even happening.

As things stand, I'm perfectly ok with him doing the final year of his contract and a decision being made after that.

I understand people not liking him or his approach, but there's elements of the logic people are using which don't add up to me - as if we are never going to progress under him. In 11 seasons as our manager last time out, we finished in the top 7 eight times (which nowadays is pretty much guaranteed Europe the vast majority of the time), despite having a budget somewhere around the 11th to 12th biggest in the league on average.

What I would say though is what I would say about any manager at any given time - if there's an outstanding candidate who would be a clear upgrade on Moyes and would fit with everything else the club needs, I'd be perfectly happy to make a change - I haven't seen one who fits that bill being suggested yet.

Oh for sure, there is a lot of residual feeling hanging around from his first stint

I've voted no, because at the moment, if we don't get Europe, it feels like an opportunity missed and a bottom half finish feels a bit disappointing and a case of 'what could have been'.

I didn't expect Europe at the start of the season, and think he's certainly done a good job in quickly propelling us away from safety but a European place is still up for grabs. If we somehow manage to get there, then fair play. I wouldn't really be against him carrying on for another season if that's the case.

I am a Moyes supporters but next season there will be nowhere to hide.

He also knows this.

He'll have have a another summers worth of investment so he hasn't got a leg to stand on really.

No more limp wristed cup performances and poor home form.
Very fair. Genuinely.

I just can't help feeling everyone is going to regret being so fair this time next year...

But as Baz would say as Ped stammers over his gutteral sighs: hey-ho.

Why? Because if you're right, we will have wasted a year? We've not won anything in over 30 years. One more year isn't going to make much of a difference if you're right, and even if you are I can guarantee I'll regret it less than other managerial decisions we've made.

Yes, we will have wasted ANOTHER year when it should be clear to a blind dog with a mallet up his arse that we're on to nothing with Mediocrity Moyes.
