The majority on here are just as dour and “safety first” as ol Davey it seems. I think they’ll get their wish so I hope they enjoy more early cup exits, a safe and steady 9th/10th place all whilst being the lowest scorers in the league with the oldest averaged aged team.

Thrilling stuff can’t wait already. At least we have the excitement of the transfer window and watching the clowns in charge of recruitment spend all summer long attempting to agree a fee with West Ham for Soucek.

Good times.

….i suspect it’s more that they just understand the improvement and progressive momentum since he came in. The noisy minority with lazy stereotyping phrases like the permanent Soucek links. 12 months left on his contract, I’d feel sure he’ll at least see that out and what happens after might largely be down to him.

60% currently in favour, very reassuring.

I would like us to change. He has done the job he was required to do and I'm sure next season would be more of the same but there have been too many things from this season that have irritated me and have been borderline unacceptable and I'd like us to try and push forward and progress as a club on and off the pitch. Fun football should be about risk and Moyes is Mr risk averse.

Honestly don't know. Unless the club have done their homework and sorted out a suitable new guy and get him in fully supported and with plenty of time before the new season then no but if so, maybe, probably veering to a slight yes.

Undecided. If we make Europe would be happy to give him the season. If we don’t I guess it depends how we finish the season.

Feels like a massive opportunity missed if we don’t get European football.

Equally at the start of the season I would not have expected Europe.

It’s ok for objectives and goals to change mid way through the season but we must not loose sight of what our expectations were at the start.

I don’t imagine many of us had European expectations at the beginning of the season.

100% agreed in that sense, it is just more of a thought on the fans reaction. A giant like Bayern can take a risk on a relegated manager where as half our fans wanted Moyes cos "he knows the club/gets us.."
Oh absolutely with you on that.

Thing is, you are never going to please all of the people.

Apart from Benitez I’ve 100% got behind any manager and would continue to do so. There’s always that fraction though who think they are experts and have to question everything.

We took a gamble on a relegated Martinez and had a great season, so no reason it can’t happen again under better owners.

Unfortunately Martinez started signing players like Aiden Mcgeady and calling them world class so lost the plot a bit which was a real shame.

DM has one more year on his contract. I'm hoping in that year his stability at the helm will allow the structure of the background teams to be analysed to make sure we are happy going in their direction. Then go for an up and coming manager next season to replace DM after a glorious swansong to the man.

Yes. It makes you wonder where we will go next - manager wise. Having a poll on Moyes leaving is one thing, having the balls to sign a decent young manager is another. Non point sacking Moyes off and going sideways

My read of TFG, but above all - who Everton are as a club dictates he's staying.

We're just working on an updated version of the below, just need to tweak the years.

You don't need trophies to be a winner but he is a winner.

Genuinely I think the fact only (just under) 60% feel he should stay is far from reassuring. If the whole aim is supposed to be stability - and under Moyes that's all it can ever be - then having a manager who only a slight majority are in favour of keeping isn't really conducive to it.

If we get Europe, yes, undoubtedly, after so long out of it, any manager who gets this club Europe deserves to manage that Euro campaign the following season.

Given we are unlikely to get Europe now, it's a difficult one. If there was a very good coach out there who we can get, I'd be ruthless and make the change. That said, I've got a feeling that ilk of coach will have better suitors than us.

Currently we only stand to be slightly better off than the last 2 seasons of 48 points, I think the most sensible choice is letting him see out his final year with a clear goal to properly improve on what we've done for the last 3 seasons. If we end up midtable or worse, thank him and move on.

My only concern with that is, given Moyes's age, will the whole last year to save his job spur him on? Or will it be us boringly going through the motions? Like Dyche last season, his heart wasn't in it like it was in the previous two seasons because he knew he wouldn't be the guy walking us out at the new stadium.

As it stands, just so everyone can make peace with it he'll be here next season.
Oh for better or worse I think you are right EG.

If he does stay for the final year of his contract I desperately hope that he's not a lame duck manager with the players knowing that he will only be here for another season.

For that reason I think that TFG either have to extend his contract or replace him .
