As has been said, it’s not the opinion people object to, it’s his trolling manner that’s the problem.

And no one would have any idea if any of us “lack the ability to debate his ideas properly”, because he never responds to any of the many detailed, issue based responses he’s received.

Does calling the President by his name, Trump, Donald Trump, in that text kinda goes against protocol? I always thought a President is referred to as Mr President, or President Whoever.

I would interpret it as calculated disrespect.

You would always call him Mr. President, or President Trump to his face. It's generally considered proper to refer to the president as 'President last name', but it's not strictly required. If memory serves, the Republicans regularly referred to the previous president as 'Obama' without the honorific.

The expectation in an official communication would be to use the honorific. I couldn't tell you offhand if the Republicans ever violated that norm during Obama's term. Refusing to use it signals that the communicating party thinks that the present occupant has demonstrated themselves to be unworthy of the title, which has been the Biden campaign's message all along.

It's a pretty strong message, though. Even at Bush 43's low ebb with Katrina, I don't recall anyone going that far.

that's fair enough and I'm willing to concede that my opinion might be a bit subjective based on a bias. Hard not to have that bias living here!
I'll take the argument that Pence may have won on the night, but I think Harris managed the night better for her overall campaign if that makes sense.
The swing in women voting for trump in 16 and Biden now is huge, Pence failed to do anything to address that. And not answering the question about a safe transition of power was disqualifying for me!
