but even then, he'd have to win Florida by a ton to avoid delays over mail in votes and legal challenges.
Even if he does win Florida, I don't see him winning it by more than 3 or 4 points, not enough to stop the GOP snarling things up.
If Trump loses FL, PA and WI, then it might be called on the night.
I think if he won FL by 3pts, that's what, over a quarter of a million votes? (Probably more actually, if turnout is > 2016). Think they'd challenge with that big of a margin?

not sure, I think they might. Depends on how well they can gauge how many mail in ballots were still not counted. There's be a huge amount of mail in ballots in Gods waiting room :)
Obviously, under normal circumstances they'd concede but this won't be normal... at all.

Am I crazy or is Trump refusing to debate just an AWFUL strategic move for him?

By every available measure he's losing. Another one of his lunatic rallies doesn't get him anything he doesn't already have.

He's got 26 days left and absolutely HAS to shift the trajectory of this race. The debates are the single biggest opportunity to do that, simply down to the number of eyeballs watching them.

Is pulling out just his campaign's way of admitting that he's incapable of moving votes over to his side in a debate too, so they might as well keep him out of the limelight and avoid doing even more damage? Genuinely can't see any other reason.

It reminds me of the last few months of WW2 and Hitler. All his generals and that were telling him stuff he didnt want to hear cos no one had ever done that before........

Based on his last debate, I would also be avoiding the debate like a (soz) plague. He's atrocious at them, has nothing new to say and doesn't have anywhere the momentum he had the last time when his clown act connected with the electorate. He doesn't even have a clear message like MAGA. Every debate will lose him more voters, it's damage limitation now

His campaign seems skint so you’d think any free media is a win along with Trump loving the attention.

This also seems a bit of a weird strategy...

Remember 2016 when Pence genuinely smashed Kaine in the debate and Trump couldn't handle it, even tried to claim credit for it. Beneath all that orange flab is a petty, immature boy
