My concern is that no matter what the nature of the win is, it's impossible to say how him and his supporters will react. He's clearly unhinged and desperate

Each candidate had a job in that debate.
Pence's job was to win over independents. He didn't do that. He had to stop the enormous slide in Trumps women vote, he failed at that too.
Harris's job was to keep the ship steady and avoid any controversy. She succeeded.
Neither performance will effect either candidates numbers and as Trump/Pence are behind, Pence lost.
Also he stood there with pink eye and a fly in his hair patronizing the moderator and dodging all the questions.
I feared a good Pence show but he didn't deliver.
Why are you here? You're not a mod, stop acting like some sort of sad, pound shop security guard. Go back to the transfer thread and vault bad opinions or something.

I just don't get it.
Trump must clearly know that he did himself no favors at the first debate.
He has a golden opportunity here to do the responsible thing.
He could take the opportunity to call off an in person debate. Get out in front of it and use it as a leadership moment.
Maybe work with the networks to use the air time for some sort of first responders/medical workers appreciation night, I dunno.
Instead he's crying that a 74 year old with covid and a 77 year old can't debate in person...
In '16 his blunt opinion and 'couldn't give a crap' attitude worked for some people.
Now it seems like the worst possible strategy imaginable, yet he carries on.

The only way it gets decided on the day is if Biden wins Florida (which is usually pretty quick with its counts)
but even then, he'd have to win Florida by a ton to avoid delays over mail in votes and legal challenges.
Even if he does win Florida, I don't see him winning it by more than 3 or 4 points, not enough to stop the GOP snarling things up.
If Trump loses FL, PA and WI, then it might be called on the night.
