I was reading more along this line last night. The security implications...IT security has to assume there were foreign assets in the rioters. Everything "with a cord" will have to be assessed for listening/video devices - down to lamps and coffee pots. All computers completely broken down to look for malicious hardware and software, including the keyboard and mouse, on and on...

crazy that - I was especially struck by this bit:

Chicago backed Biden 82/18; Biden won every ward in the city. Biden won Ilinois by 17 points (58/41). The margins were similar to Obama - Romney (Obama won Chicago by 74/23 and Illinois by 58/41) and Obama - McCain (in Chicago 76-23 and in Illinois 62-37)

How much cognitive dissonance can someone have to claim, entirely seriously, that they don't believe many people voted for Biden when they represent cops in a city that votes overwhelmingly Democrat? Its like someone saying they can't believe people eat fish on a trawler scooping up cod.

The point is he doesn't believe those statistics you cite.

This is why it is so difficult...impossible. There is no data you can present that will shake their belief if it doesn't confirm it.

Absolutely, and you can see that in how he frames those sentences. Why would that many people vote for Biden? I mean, it couldn't be that people were voting against the other guy, could it?

I can understand perhaps starting off with a minimally visible presence to not provoke, I thought during the BLM protests there was far too aggressive posturing, but absolutely no excuse not to have a backup plan that could be swiftly executed if that didn’t work.
WASHINGTON—Federal authorities had planned to deal with protests this week with a relatively small, minimally visible presence, according to law-enforcement officials, hoping to avoid inflaming tensions as a show of force had done during unrest last year in Portland, Ore., and other cities.

That approach seemed to have backfired on Wednesday, when thousands of pro-Trump rioters surrounded the U.S. Capitol and some easily breached the barricades and stormed the building, with one woman fatally shot by Capitol Police, according to law-enforcement officials, and three others dead in what the city’s police chief described as “medical emergencies.”

They shouldn't be announcing anything but there should have been a TON more everywhere else. That's the fn Capital. So they don't want to hurt little snowflakes feelings with a show of force where they are trying to overthrow a democratically done election but they will go massively overboard with college students and everyone else trying to shine light on injustice against blacks(and minorites)? Great to know that it's literally due to the color of their skin.

You don't say.

Could have easily been in the buildings out of site to be able to step out as soon as the visible presence started getting pushed/falling back.

68 arrested in the aftermath of all this. Does anyone know what kind of charges and jail time they'll serve?

An example needs to be made to show that this type idiotic behavior will not be tolerated.

And this clown was the biggest tit of them all! Have they identified him yet?
minimal. the vast majority of those arrested were breaking curfew.

In a roundabout way he could in one way be correct, in that a lot of people perhaps didn't vote for Biden... unfortunately the part he can't get his head around is that an awful lot of people voted against Trump.

That's exactly my point. There are about 50k people next door and the person in charge is yelling to overthrow the government. They BROADCAST they were going to be doing this and "we don't want to antagonize these people" was their stance? Ok, have the other thousand police in the Capital in case they do something.

Presumably falls under this Act?!
