Seven days until the Georgia senate runoff. So much is on the line for our country, if Republicans get to keep at least one of the seats and keep control of the Senate then I have no doubt that they would do everything within their power to hinder Biden's agenda and nominees. But most importantly Republicans will not assist Biden passing another relief package. They are already claiming there is no need to help Americans with additional relief aid. These politicians have no compassion.

The Senate also needs to confirm appointments to his cabinet. Republicans already said they won't do that if they have the Senate.

I have no idea how 70m people voted for these lunatics. They're sociopaths. Break everything, get in to power, corrupt it and break it some more, then blame the Democrats when they come in to party for Republican issues.

This country is so fecked...

Well they have to vote for somebody to fill cabinet positions or Biden's executive branch can't function. Whilst I'm sure many Republicans would love to see that, in reality it would surely be pretty easy for the White House to point fingers in that situation and would form the central plank of the 2022 messaging.

It certainly does tie Biden's hands in terms of more radical picks though, and would probably lead to a frustrated Left without much representation at the highest levels.

It really does reinforce just how damn lucky Trump was to:

a) Be treated with kid gloves by the heavyweights in the crowded Republican primaries as they were all scared of losing the support of his base if they were the one to take him down. By the time any of them realised he wasn't going away they'd left it too late to recapture the narrative

b) Face a Democrat who was generally disliked already (hated on the Right) and struggled to enthuse the Left who didn't really have much more of a message than "It's my time".

c) Get elected into a political environment that placed no real checks on his day-to-day running of the job. A majority cowed by his base in both House and Senate meant he faced no pushback politically on any appointments, nor would he have to even bother using his overhyped 'dealmaking' to get anything done.

Still puzzles me that not only 70 million people voted for him but that he actually managed to get more people to vote for him than they did four years ago. It just makes no sense specially after all the damage he has done to our country the past four years, and how incompetent he has been dealing with the pandemic. Their blind devotion for such despicable human being confirms they are a cult. A sinister one too :(

TBF all the signs are there to suggest it was actually him who committed election fraud - the variance with the polling, the implausibility of it, and of course his outraged bleating.

Totally agree. Trump has committed so much fraud throughout his life and has always managed to get away with it but he should be held accountable for sabotaging our democracy the way he has done so the last few weeks.

Also d) Receive a billion dollars worth of free campaign exposure by the cable news networks (especially CNN) trying to capitalize on the freak show nature of his run.

Whilst that certainly helped him I'm not sure I'd consider it luck... Trump's one undeniable skill is playing the media up for attention.
