Biden shouldn't.

The President, any President, shouldn't be laying a figurative finger on the scale of justice one way or another, but especially for political rivals. That is all part of the norms that Trump has obliterated. POTUS should never be involved in the legal process.
He shouldn't be seen to be doings so, no. He cant be getting embroiled in 4 years mudslinging with Trump or the MAGA hat wearing clowns who suport him. But POTUS must have the tools in the tool box to facilitate and make things happen. His job is not only to change America's fortunes on covid19 and the economy, but he also has a political duty to do all he can to prevent Trumpism reappearing down the line.

You're a tad condescending aren't you?

You come off as a expletive I can't use on here.

I didn't say that but if you're blinded by some strange obsession with the democrat party that doesn't even remotely look like our Labour party even in it's current centrist state then well, carry on but don't come on here and try and make me look stupid.
You made yourself look stupid when you drew an equivalence between racist bigots and right wing people having a hard time getting their message across on facebook.

Which, incidentally, they don't. A racist clown won the US presidency off the back of Twitter
yea, of course they don't. Theres no media regulation here, no censorship, any batshit crazy idea can gain traction on Facebook and then get picked up by tucker Carlson so Murdock can sell ad space to some pharma company selling drugs to old people.

It's a complete tangent, but you should see the amount of ads for prescription drugs, it's nuts. Only the US and NZ (oddly) allow it. So the ads are all like "suffering from chronic liver disease? tell your doctor to recommend X" set to a video of a grandpa playing with his adoring grand kids!

anyway, his reason for calling America repulsive was one of the daftest things I've read on here.

This is my rebuttal. These folks aren't going to disappear due to anything Biden does or doesn't do.

At this point the best long term plan is to improve education. Expand the school year; stop teaching kids to pass standardized tests; stop dumbing down the curriculum for fear we upset parents; allow for non-college pathways that still treats general knowledge as admirable and doesn't treat these students differently; and teach them to think critically and promote life long learning.

While I'm having my pipe dream...massively increase funding (evenly across districts) and have actual educators determining curriculum/textbooks without political or religious input.
There are some damn scary textbooks out there. Thank you Texas

The chumps who cry most about freedom of speech are the same ones who are posting utter tripe on a daily basis on any platform they want. It's 'kin mad

Prescription drug direct to consumer advertising is one of the worst things to happen in medicine (from the drug side) that doesn't involve insurance.
Can't tell you how much I hate it.

This is all bang on.
I work in the textbook area (highschool AP and college). The amount of influence Texas has in the textbook decisions made across the southern states is huge. Most other southern states look at the decisions Texas make and follow suit so there's huge lobbying money spent in Austin by the likes of Pearson and McGraw Hill to get books adopted. These companies will do pretty much anything the state legislators want to get a foot hold in the market.

It's also vitally important to make all state third level college free. There's no reason to stop the free public education option at 12th grade. Obviously this gets extended to trades and apprenticeships.

That's a really interesting article, thanks for posting. But it's only one person's opinion, and there's quite a few equally qualified lawyers who believe the opposite.

It's all a matter of interpretation to be honest. As ever, a lot is down to the interpretation of various words within the constitution.

It's so incredibly jarring to see it as a Brit visiting the States.

The other thing that's really weird is when brands explicitly mention the names of their competitors in adverts. You never see that here.
