Good points. I will say that the policy maker at Facebook is/was a guy called Joel David Kaplan who was an aide to the Bush administration for 8 years. He was brought in to make the decisions Zuckerberg didn’t want to make so he couldn’t be viewed as personally having an agenda. A lot of the decisions around not censoring came about as you rightly say due to the drive for growth. Kaplan did favour right learning groups, they tried to bring in another guy to offset this, I can’t remember his name and he brought in some system of trying to stop the tide of alt right groups and Zuckerberg basically shut it down in the name of growth. Instead he banned groups like the Proud boys and those on the left they deemed as anarchists however the groups on the left they shut down were basically ousting the far right groups spreading hate. The conspiracy thread is in the ale house.
But heck ill give it a whirl.
Jack Dorsey did nothing but lick up to Donald Trump to try curry favor with him.
Zuckerberg was no different.
If you had ever met or spent time with them (or any other "big tech" leaders), the one thing you would understand the only thing that drives them is power and money.
Both Dorsey and Zuckerberg donate to politicians on both sides of the aisle.
Them appearing to lean to one side is not because of politics but because of their users and trends. Without Joe Public and with continued bad press their share prices would drop. Especially when they have to attend terribly arranged hearings to answer dumb questions.
In any case as it was pointed out by many observant users of both of their platforms that in their terms and conditions they mention banning and deleting your content if its offensive. Something needed company was actually enforcing until last year.
One last thing. Can you clarify? Are you calling the right leaning Americans on here racists and bigots? You seem to suggest that is the case in the awful generalization you have just made.
i think you might find this 2 parter interesting mate, it explains it far more eloquently then I can
