In theory the Senate isn’t a terrible idea as a counterweight to the House. What I don’t think the Founders, in all their high minded idealism of that era, could have ever accounted for is an obstructionist piece of **** like Mitch McConnell effectively highjacking it and using it to hold the country hostage.
