I asked this a long time ago but more apt to current circumstances given the election is weeks away.
Given that nobody likes him, will vote for him and he is meant to be the worst president in American history.
What happens if trump wins? The country is even more against him from what I can see from an outside perspective. I'm not expecting him to win neither.
But what if come election day, Donald trump gets 4 more years?
Well, I guess it depends how he wins.
If he wins the popular vote, we move on, but that'll never happen.
If he wins without the popular vote but a handy electoral college win, we move on.
If, and this is a likely scenario, he gets crushed in the popular vote, and there are some races too tight to call in the electoral college, then we are in trouble. There's a chance he'll control the supreme court by then so they'll back any legal challenge he'll take against a result he's not happy with.
So what happens if Trump wins, very much depends on how he wins.
It also depends on if the republicans keep the senate.
If these things happen, you could start to see a fracturing of the country as blue states start pushing for more and more power, start working in groups to ensure the survival fo the ACA or Roe v Wade. The red states won't object to this as they see this as the 'South rising again'.
Trump will work hard to install Don Junior and Ivanka as the party heirs and reasonable republicans (are there any?) will desert the party and be replaced by loons.
Who knows, but in the past four years Trump has ruined the reputation of this country, torn apart systems and tradition and stood by as 200k died from a virus he tried to use as a political football.
The vultures are circling round the UK now thanks to Brexit, they're waiting till nov 3 to see if they can circle round the US too.
