That feels like a concern? I'm sure I read something saying that Republicans have been out-registering Dems when it comes to new voters, because they've not been avoiding face to face contact due to the pandemic

My feeling is a good percentage of that is the youth turnout (18-24 years). As for the rest, there's no way to know for sure. Texas has been such a low-turnout state historically.

As I recall there where a couple of those, but most had at least two candidates.

First-time voters may be young people aging into their voting rights or they may be obstreperous coots who never voted until they got a chance to re-elect Trump.

I say round up all first-time voters so we can keep an eye on 'em until after the election.

It's kinda sad. I'm 40 and the first time I'm passionate enough and think my vote may matter isn't to bring in some bright utopian future, it's just to return to something a bit more sane and pleasant for everyone.

I believe he's referring to non-white, non-educated voters.

Speaking of non-white voters, trying to find out if there's been another spike in Asian-American vote in Texas (about 1 in 10 Asian-Americans live here) given the POTUS' insistence on blaming China for the virus. In 2016 only 47% voted.

(Edit: as a share of the vote, yeah, the Asian vote is up. By 50% v 2016!!)

Have been following this thread for awhile and the to me the voting process you have over there is nuts. Here (Australia) is pretty simple as it's just 2 pieces of paper. Usually a green one for the house of reps (Local MP) and white one for the senate. There are lots of voting places usually so can go anywhere. I go and vote at the local primary school usually and can wait in line about 15 minutes but can have a democracy sausage while we wait. We have a state election here in 2 weeks and early voting is now open so I could go to the local council office and vote there which would take me 2 minutes as usually no lines.
