UKIP will not win enough seats to be considered in a coalition with any side.

My thoughts too. Think the microscope of an election campaign has started to lift the scales from the eyes of some who would be ok voting for them in a meaningless by-election, but in a vote that matters, think you are right.

Mrs R is pretty sure you are actually.

But Cameron has promised (again) and "In/Out" referendum. I know he doesnt want one, well I dont "know", but my guess is he doesnt in an ideal world. So yeah, he would much prefer a LD coalition.

I am resigned to a coalition of some sort, just do not want UKIP or the SNP anywhere near one. I fear I will be disappointed.
He's promised one but only by 2017. That would just allow him to drag it out ensuring UKIP support...not something Ukip would allow in negotiations.

"So Esk isnt in charge?"

"No"

"Who is?"

"A lad called Danny"

"Who is Danny?"

"The lad who started it it"

"Do you know Danny?"

"Not really"

"But you know Esk?"

"Not really"

"So who do you know?"

"No one really"

"So why ask Esk?"

"Dunno really. Thought Danny would be busy"

"But you dont know Danny"

"Dont know Esk either"

"But he was lovely"

"Yeah, thought he would be sound"

"How though? You dont know him"

"Dunno really"

Para phrase of a recent conversation.

Leadership is always obvious mate.

A prescient film with regards to the election is The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer, starring Peter Cook. It satirises advertising, pollsters,PR, and political spin. Made in 1970 it's remarkably accurate regarding the politics we have to endure today :

Dear oh dear, it is only two years away!!!!!! What else of minor importance do you want to pin your flag to?

Cameron's word was that there would be attempts to amend the treaty more to our benefit

PS Many years ago if you remember Brown said we could have a referendum on the new EU treaty if it had changed. All the other EU leaders signed but Brown delayed, later he quietly zipped off to Lisbon and signed it there. Came back and stated there was not a significant change so no need for a vote. If there was little change why was it necessary to act like he did.
