Has to be a blow to the Tories after their 'big news' on the economy.

Internal Labour polling also apparently showing a swing toward them in England and Wales of over 5%.

Listening to him speak, he is head and shoulders above any contemporary British politician.

To which I would add that he is also remarkably adept at lining his & his family's pockets.

"Cool Britannia" still makes me cringe .. but each to his own

Vote Loony. In a mad world, it's a vote for common sense

Would be interesting if the Tories had to consider a pact with UKIP to avoid a Lib/Lab coalition.

If they did have to consider it, then it would probably mean they were the largest party, and if the numbers stacked up, a repeat of the last coalition would probably be more attractive to Cameron. Or maybe not.

Scotland will win anyrate. One way or another.

The Liberals couldn't do it, i don't think. Would absolutely destroy what little support they have left.

Ukip and the Tories would mean an early EU referendum. If it takes Britain out of the EU that's exactly what the Tory leadership dont want; if the referendum result sees us remain in the EU that would leave Ukip as a loose cannon partner of government for the rest of the parliament. I dont see what's in it for the Tories.

There's only three coalitions that will work: Tory/LD or LP/SNP or LP/LD.

But Cameron has promised (again) and "In/Out" referendum. I know he doesnt want one, well I dont "know", but my guess is he doesnt in an ideal world. So yeah, he would much prefer a LD coalition.

I am resigned to a coalition of some sort, just do not want UKIP or the SNP anywhere near one. I fear I will be disappointed.

Quite brilliant speech.

Totally clarity relating to the choice facing the country, isolationism and austerity under the Conservatives with a massively disruptive and unnecessary referendum versus Labour, protection of public services and a vote for social and economic inclusion.

If there was ever any proof needed that a leader needs presence...
