My nephew monitored it for a week four years ago for his media studies. One of the findings was thy actually "TALK" for an average of 28 minutes per hour, the rest is ads and station promo.

Nothing wrong with that mate they do need to make money

It is pitiful the way that Talksh1te panders to the masses. There's nothing wrong with building up good sides that deserve the credit they get - Swansea, Everton, Tottenham (to a degree), United, City (when they won things, recently), Chelsea - and to talk down the likes of Newcastle and Liverpool and (to a lesser extent) Arsenal for underachievement. Obviously the truth is too painful. You'll only get decent journalism from decent journalists so reading and listening to low brow programmes gives a low quality product.

problem is where else do you go for decent stuff. other countries seem to have a wide choice of sometimes decent journalism about football. ours seems either totally focussed on three or four clubs or just made up. talksport does have guests that seem to know what they are talking about, but its a massive contradiction to the inane nonsense of the presenters or an occasional journo from the Mirror or worse who just seem to parrot what the presenters are saying. you have to sit through a lot of sh*t to hear a sensible guest with background knowledge. I think the Echo has got even worse and seems in the control of Trinity now so prob doesn't care what gets reported either. there was also the terrible reporting last season that Moyes was talking with Spurs. a rumour they started and claimed was definite, and then reported as news as though it had happened, and then carried on with despite denials. with bookies sponsoring these stations and papers how much does anyone trust them not to get involved inventions just to get punters spending money. The Moyes to Spurs thing should have meant an outright condemnation from Everton and maybe something of a boycott from the club. rising above it all doesn't seem to work.

It is so bad and imbecilic it actually makes the rest of talkSPORT seem good in comparison.

:(

its not that bad... sports bar is good

You do realise they need to say crap like 'everton will get relegated' so evertonians phone up and then they obviously get cash... it's all an act.

Stopped listening to it when Mike Parry was dumped for Key & Gray - Brazil was ok & I like the Moose Stan Collymoor okish - but its utter tosh since Mike Parry left!

Preferred Talk Sport , when it wasn't all sport i.e James Whale . Mike Parry , Ian Collins etc.....

Too many Southerners with their arrogant and stunted views IMO.

He actually talks quite a bit of sense. I like listening to it when he's on.
