Not sure if this needs a new thread or a thread at all but am getting increasingly confused about Talksport coverage of Everton. I am used to Everton being patronised by Match Of The Day and The Mirror and the likes, but without sounding like a conspiracy theorist or whatever Talksport seems close to hostile to us. Hardly an hour goes by without someone saying that Fellaini, Baines and Jagielka are leaving. Not 'might be leaving'.. definitely leaving. They had half hour discussion on how it would be good for the league for most players to stay where they were for the close season, and that Suarez and Bale probably would, then ten minutes later it was the usual stuff about four or five Everton players who were on their way.
It is mentioned constantly that we are in the sh*t and will plummet to our natural place soon. No Evertonian has ever come on that I am aware of to express an alternative to this and a supposed blue has just been on saying we need to get real and employ someone as manager who fits our lowly image. Easy to stop listening but there is no other station with rolling sports news. Maybe they are like this with everyone outside the big four or five, but would like to know if anyone has ever got a message read out or anything on there that contradicts their warped view.

They do it to wind fans up, who then ring up and they get moneys.

For each slot they have 2 presenters, who ALWAYS have different views, good cop, bad cop, more listeners, more adverts, more callers = money.

Dont let it bother you, console yourself in that fact that they know fck all about football other than what it says on the cards infront of them.

I do see your point mate and that Adrian Durham on Drive hates us and constantly emphasises how bad our style of football is and that we are doomed for relegation next season. The guy's a melt in my eyes.

My theory:

Manchester United is the most hyped, most popular team in the league, country, and possibly Europe and/or the world.

David Moyes has just become their new manager. In order to justify Moyes being elevated, Pope-style, to such a lofty sought after post, they have to play up how absolutely crucial he was to Everton.

Thus, because he was 'absolutely the sole person responsible for everything we hold dear', the consequence of that is that we are now in the brown stuff, because the great David Moyes has now gone to the great Man Utd.

In short - they portray Everton in dire straits in order to put over Moyes being selected.

The best thing we can do (it goes without saying) is to have another good season next year. Similar to how Swansea thrived after the 'great Brendan Rodgers who they owed everything to' left.

We'll probably then get 'well Moyes laid the foundations' bs, but at least the 'Everton are doomed!' stuff will stop.

I imagine bill kenwright thinks exactly the same thing...does that worry you....?

Talksh1t is for the masses who can't read - think The Sun and go even lower.. (apparently that IS possible)

They had Dave Whelan on today

Amongst other things,
He said Martinez was the "best manager in Europe"
He also said that the gulf between Man United and Everton was the same as the gap between Everton and Wigan

What a tool shed

I'm glad he broke his leg in the cup final and his team lost 3-0, the gitsworth
