Now reported that the U.K. has decided to ‘take action’ over the chemical bombing. Pretty sure France will say the same so then it’s just a matter of coordination with the USA.....

After 10 years and counting of austerity, the NHS on its knees, education in tatters and the working poor about to take a big hit on their Tax Credits it looks like Teresa is about to knock seven shades of poo out of the magic money tree, as BAE Systems (American owned) needs a cash injection. and t
I suppose they have to do something with the money we save through austerity, why not give it to an American owned arms contractor and tax breaks for corporations.

A terrible incident which obviously should not have happened, yet it did. I'm not sure whether or not military personnel should have been prosecuted as opposed to the administrative punishments apparently handed out. Once again, though, I don't think this can be construed as an intentional act by the US for the reasons I outlined in my response to the previous links provided.

The tory cabinet have decided Pete.... not the UK. ... disgusting if this doesn't go to a parliamentary vote.

Is it even legal ?? We are not at war with anybody at the moment so is it not constutionally correct to take it to a vote ?
I don't pretend to know the answer but I was listening to the arguments put forward last night

Baesystems is a British company. Baesystems inc is a US subsidiary wholly owned by Baesystems Ltd.......

Because it's not a decision a select few should make on a whim when so many are opposed to Trumps plan of action . Personally I would prefer we don't get involved.

Historically it has always been so. It’s only since Brown that these sort of things have been approved by parliament. But you also have to ask what is the point when you have someone like Corbyn or Abbott who have already stated that there are no circumstances in which they would allow bombing. Abbott keeps saying that we need an independent UN inspectors report before she would vote for it, having just seen Russia, again, veto such a proposal. Personally if I were May I would let it be discussed because it would really show up some on the Labour front bench, but legally and through precedent there is no need......

It was inferred last night that as we are not currently 'at war' as it were with anybody that they are now legally obligated to bring it to a vote. Again I don't prtend to know if this is true.

Things like this really show up who is who in the world and whether or not they are willing to act over a principle. There are lots of handwringers who basically say ‘do nothing’ for a variety of reasons. But to their credit, the USA, France and the U.K. take their responsibility seriously. We’ve already seen one lot of apologists denying that Russia poisoned people on the streets of the U.K. and we will almost certainly get the same people denying or making excuses for Russia over the dropping of chemical bombs in Syria. If we are serious about not allowing such weapons then it’s important to react. It’s just a shame that Russia is once again involved and that China retreats behind an abstention.......

I agree that something must be done.... I just dont believe that dropping bombs which will inevitably lead to the death of hundreds of innocents is the answer. Don't ask me what the answer is as I honstly don' know... maybe it's a troops on the ground scenario with more strategic and specific targets attacked. Thankfully people who know about these things get paid to discuss the plans and agree between them the best form of action.... I don't think it' a decision to be made by a select few cabinet ministers. The cynic in me already thinks that May wants her war... as did Blair. ...as did Thatcher. ..and it would come at a very convenient time for her too.
