We would have. The burden of expectation would have seen us sink into a "must not lose" mentality, rather than a "must win".

We'd have drawn or lost both.

We would of drew them, that's what we did under moyes! Playing well under moyes was awesome, he had us playing excellent at times. Playing under par usually meant a draw, playing badly a loss.

It wasn't all that bad under ginger jeez. Although it's very special under Roberto currently.
The only worry is how long till barca want him? Arggghh!

I am not overly bothered by the result. We were the better team again and we had more possession. We have had more possession than every single opponent this season so our system is working. We will just have to wait for Michu to come back and get some more signings in January to add to it. We can still finish top 4 if we have title winning form in 2014.

All that reminds me of when Rafael Benitez used to say 'We controlled the game' after the Reds got beat 1-0.

I used to wonder, how could you control a game when you haven't scored?

Yes, you scored, but you know what I mean.

.....the Barkley free kick provides real opening for the rest of the season. As soon as it was awarded I thought 'left footer', but the fact that he has that ability will be a real source of panic for opposing keepers. Baines and Barkley standing over free kicks, one lefty one righty, keepers seriously wont know what to do.

I hope we keep being that lucky.

Any of our previous teams and yes that's a draw. Swans defended well (Williams again especially) and practice against this style every day in practice. However we got players all over the pitch that can single handedly pull stuff out of their behinds when we can't create passing it around. We've had players like that before (McFadden, Billy) but their deficiences kept them from being day to day starters.

The whole settling thing by Ladrup is just nonsense though. Ossie has been an asset off the bench and Naismith is more of a striker.

We didn't play great but still won

That's the difference between champs and challengers

I thought Oviedo did well, the goal aside, and also thought Howard made some cracking saves

Overall, I was happy to take the 3 points and sneak off into the night unscathed

Distin appears to be breast feeding Jagielka there, is that where the Milkman nickname comes from?

Man love for the Milkman

That's two wins now without Everton playing their best. That's a good sign.

Could have been 2-0 without the OG but at least we turned it up a gear in the second half so fair play to Everton.

These last two matches (Fulham & Swansea) are games we almost undoubtedly would have lost last season.

Well that doesn't make any sense, because we won both fixtures last year and and immaculate records against both!

It was not Oviedo's fault. Stevie P - who had a very good game overall - bottled the challenge

@norweigan_cow

Laudrup explicitly said Everton where " not lucky" so I think you are misinformed.

Lukaku looks shattered to me. It would be great to be in the position to give the kid a bit of a rest.

Hes doing well taking so much attention away from other players but the kid lives for goals...you can tell hes desperate for one.

His touch and hold up play havent been good the past couple of matches and hes left himself isolated.

I got slaughtered on here for saying we didnt play well against fulham. We didnt play particularly great yesterday either but who gives a [Poor language removed]! Were flying and just need to keep getting the 3 points by any means necessary.

2 unbeleivable goals worthy of winning any game though!
