Can we attribute all the space available down the flanks to Lukaku’s presence in the middle?

It certainly contributes to it.

He hasn't scored for a while and his touch leaves a lot to be desired at times but his sheer mobility creates space for others.

No, under Moyes we would have defended on the 18 yard line and conceded another. I'm loving that even in a scrappy game like that we still didn't resort to long ball, kept trying to find space and kept pressing. Moyes would have hauled Barkley off after 60 mins

Didnt we **** them 3-0 last season under moyes? Im all for praise for martinez but moyes wasnt half as bad a manager some on here would like to make out.

We need 6 at least.

2 to replace Lukaku and Del. 1 more if Barry doesn't stay, that's 3 of 6 and 3 more to give competition to Distin, Pienaar and 1 to cover numbers.

Deulofeu I think will stay another season (given that he isnt going to walk into the Barcelona first team when he goes back), Barry has been so good he might end up playing himself into a new deal at City or a move to a CL team (if we dont get there), and Lukaku depends on what Chelsea do in January or in the summer - it isnt that hard to see all of them still being here next season. In any case, they dont need replacing in January.

As for the rest, based on what Martinez said today Stones is going to be the competition for Distin. Pienaar might need replacing but they could do that when Deulofeu comes back from injury.

The belief Bobby M has given our players is astounding.

Already more away wins this season than last IIRC. Our players believe they can go anywhere and win, to compliment our usually excellent home form.

Is it on yet?

I'd say it's on.

We remind me of Sociedad from about ten years ago when they had a superbly balanced side that came from nowhere and very nearly won the title.
