Superbowl - The Who at half time

All I have to say about this is... (n)

There's just something wrong about it.

I am on this forum, and peeking in every so often at the Super Bowl. It is the American Sport. The fact the I am on here is because soccer or English football is my favorite sport.

The commercials are one reason to watch the Super Bowl, but it is also the hoopla and stuff that goes on. It is a great game to watch though.

The New Orleans Saints are playing and are the underdogs, but most people want them to win because of what happened to New Orleans and how that team became the face of the city. In a way it reminds me of Everton and how their fans support their team.

The colts have the best quarterback in maybe history and no one can bet against Payton Manning.

Yes, I will leave this forum and watch. For the ads, for the drama and for the simple fact that while I love soccer, I also love the Super Bowl. BTW you go on any American soccer forum and they always say that the best athletes that the US has are not playing soccer but football and basketball. Also the punter and kickers for the teams are most often x soccer players who had a big leg and knew where the money was.

The Who are playing and a lot of the players have no clue "Who" they are, and the Who, have never watched Amercian football.

If you watch, then enjoy, although personally I think it takes far more athletic skill to play soccer. Although you watch these guys sometimes you wonder. Naw, I still go with soccer.

Mate , half of , The Who .
Boss set list though . Alas , I won't be watchin' .
Might set the DVD thingy for about 2 a.m. though .

I used to watch it when I was a kid - I liked the LA Rams for some reason and one year they got to the Divisional final, only to get battered by the 49ers - I remember they had a running back called Eric Dickerson or something like that.

Suffice to say Joe Montana was a beast.

I was a big 49'ers fan when Montana was there, then Steve Young and Jerry rice. Now the whole sport is just so boring to watch. Far too many stoppages.

ah you were a 49ers fan when they were ace. That's well bad mate.

The 49ers are my team. Although i come from Northern California, and my mother was born in San Francisco, so i have more cause than others.

The medley stuff pisses me right off. Just do two full songs and leave it at that. Hate all that 90 seconds on one song stuff. The stage set was superb with those windmilling guitar figures...Daltrey's voice held up well; Townsend looked like a dosser.

Good game too. What an audacious move by Sean Payton to go for the little onside kick at the start of the 3rd quarter. (y) Game changer.

The halftime show reminded me of my dad and his mates on karaoke. Couldn't watch it really.

I saw the Who at the summer pops in Liverpool a few years back and it was basically really bad karaoke. I nipped out part way through to go to the loo and couldn't be bothered going back in, bought a back of doughnuts and hung around in the bar area till my mate left the gig too.

Shame as when I saw them when Entwistle was still with us they were really good!

Not all Americans watch Superbowl you know, or Wrestlemania or World Series for that matter.

I was fiddling about with the copier and scanner while it was on, and getting ready for the next day, I wasn't too bothered one bit who actually won it at the end of the day.

Super Bowl XLIV breaks record for most-watched TV show - USATODAY.com

Many did though. Most watched TV show ever. Even surpassed the 1983 Mash finalie.

The Who is one of my favourite groups going on 40 years. But Pete Townsend just can't hack it vocal wise any more however, he is still good on the guitar. Daltery tried his best but couldn't hit the highs he once did. I will say the light show was spectacular. I'm glad they played Baba O'reilly my personal favourite. Sentimentaly, I was glad they performed.

E-trade commercial was my personal favourite. Funny as heck.

I wanted New Orleans to win, but I've just been reading about their QB Brees and he sounds like a cnut, so I'd like to take back my tacit support.

I thought The Who were pretty good actually for the short amount of time they were on the stage.

Not much of an American gridiron football fan myself but you have to watch the Super Bowl just because.

Oh, and I thought the Snickers commercial with Betty White and Abe Vigoda was by far the best.
