gibson was awful after he came on i thought, gave the ball away far too often for the position he's playing.
I'm a big fan of Gibson but I think Besic is a better player. He certainly has more legs.

Hopefully if Barry is out we will see him partner McCarthy. I've been wanting to see that all season.

A team in transition finishing top 6/7 with a couple of decent cup runs and most on here said they would be happy with that come season's end (especially considering the added European games).

If the usual suspects for fourth continue to be dog turd then we may be in with a shout for fourth in addition to having a crack at some silverware (we look boss in Europe in case anyone has forgotten).

Why some of you negative whoppers suddenly appear to expect us to be challenging for the league is beyond me.

Today was a bit crap.

Thursday was ace.

Now get a grip FFS.

....I was wondering about this ahead of Barry's injury and thinking that perhaps RM thinks of Gibson as the natural cover for Barry and Besic for McCarthy. I agree that a Besic/McCarthy partnership appeals although Gibson has an expansive passing range. Lets not forget that Gibson hasn't had much football and is likely to get sharper with games.

Regardless, I expect both Gibson and Besic to start against the Hammers.

Think you're right. Both Barry and Gibson like to sit deeper, play key passes and transition defence to attack. Unfortunately Barry reads the game a lot better and Gibson will never make as many key interceptions.

Besic and McCarthy are both better on the ball and are both a lot, lot quicker, terrorising teams with pace, aggression and stamina.
