Tough one over Barkley. Eto is playing in the position that Ross wants. Eto is such a clever footballer, he is playing through balls that we would like to see Ross play. However I know Ross has come back after a injury, but he isn't doing the business out on the left. He keeps cutting in and trying to occupy the 'Eto's area'. There is an imbalance in the squad as |Naismith, Eto and Barkley all want to play the 10 position. However I don't think we can underestimate the loss of Miralles on the left. He offers that pace that can stretch teams. Through into the fact that Rom is a shadow of the player from last season. I thought there was signs of improvement recently, but his control today was shocking and a lot of impetus of our attacks floundered because of this.

Think you're right. Both Barry and Gibson like to sit deeper, play key passes and transition defence to attack. Unfortunately Barry reads the game a lot better and Gibson will never make as many key interceptions.

Besic and McCarthy are both better on the ball and are both a lot, lot quicker, terrorising teams with pace, aggression and stamina.

.....I remember we had a fantastic undefeated record when Gibson last had a decent run of games. We had a desperate lack of cover there not long ago and it's good that we are relatively strong there now. Young Ledson will probably find himself on the bench a bit more now.
