Howard - 5. Had nothing to do, wall disintegrated on him for the free kick.
Coleman - 5. Poor. Had no energy and was the weakest part in the defence. McGeady saved his arse several times. Not fully fit? Bumped to a 5 because of the last 10 mins and his hand in the goal.
Jagielka - 7. Marshalled the defence well, had some good touches and did some good defending.
Distin - 5. Not much to say really. Technically limited with the ball, we miss Stones.
Baines - 5. An anonymous performance. Looked good when he got the ball which would have been maybe 3-4 times in a decent area. Tactics weren't right for him today.
Barry - N/A. Hopefully nothing serious. Pure Shitehouse tackle from Gomez, nowhere near the ball.
Gibson - 4. Anonymous performance. Poor distribution at times. Gave us no impetus when moving the ball around.
McCarthy - 8. Best player on the park. Broke forward with the ball, a bundle of energy, key tackles, and that goal line clearance.
McGeady -7. Made chances from beating his man. Had the best chance of the first half. One pass to no-one was frustrating, needs to cut that out of his game.
Eto'o. 5. Anonymous. Didn't play his role barring the last 10 minutes. Played far too deep for a number 10 role, and didn't get in the box. Slid that nice ball in for Coleman and had that 1-2-1-2 with Lukaku which he should have finished.
Barkley. 5. Anonymous. Offered no link up with Baines and seemed stuck between playing an outright winger and number 10 role. Looked good when drifting into number 10 role, he needs to be played there as we are infinitely more dangerous with the drive he gives us through the middle.
Lukaku. 3. Poor and inconsistent. Hold up play and passing was hit and miss. Needs to be far better. Lacked support from Eto'o. Needed to slot that chance first time, was a poor decision to try and go around the keeper. Headers on target but needed power.

Naismith. 6. Full of energy when he came on. Gave us options around the penalty area and someone in the box.
Osman. N/A.

Poor performance. Really poor. No doubt referee was dog turd as Sunderland should have been playing with 9, but we brought the result on ourselves with an awful performance.
Can't wait till Mirallas gets back as the side lacks balance. We lack quality wing options and need him back so that we can actually stretch sides with width.

He scored a penalty.

Worrying news about Barry. Not convinced McCarthy's is serious. Wouldn't have played on with a dodgy hamstring, would imagine it's just fatigue and he'll withdrae from Ireland squad and have 2 weeks off.

Are you fooking blind??

McGeady isnt good enough? Ha ha the last 3 games now he has been our best player. What games are you watching. Do us a favour Stevie and go and watch the game again. Awful shout that.

McGeady isnt good enough. I should neg you for this. How you can post this post on here is beyond me.

He's not. He does a few step overs. His pace is a myth as I can't remember a time he blitzed passed a fullback. In the last 2 premier league games we've not scored from open play and I'm struggling to find a time he created anything bar a cross. So saying he's been our best player doesn't ring true.

His crossing and decision making are inconsistent. He's an impact player for 20 minutes for me.

Im hearing his season is over. Emergency OP as we speak. Broke in two places.
I would be hesitant to believe anything until at least tomorrow, or you hear from the club.

He'll have gone straight to hospital and will need triage / X-Ray before any diagnosis will be made.

Taking that into consideration, including the fact he's in Sunderland and not in the local area, I would be sceptical of any 'supposed' injuries yet.

EDIT: We'll the official Twitter account is now talking about it so....

terrible performance by lukaku and the ref....other than that it was a decent away performance....Sunderland should have had 2 players sent off, which would have resulted in an easy win for us.....
Lukaku, Mourinho will be laughing his @ss off we paid 28 million....how much would we have had to pay for a striker with a first touch?...
It makes me laugh people always bring up his price tag. This time last year he was worth 40 million to the same people who are now complaining we paid 28 for him. He'll be worth it and will come good, we just look half a team without him firing. But how many years before him have we been playing without a striker?

Injuries to barkley, mirallas, stones, barry and mccarthy.

Could you of picked 5 players who are more key to our team. Couldnt make it up. Mind boggling
