Sunderland Til I Die - Netflix Doc

Just finished this series and thought it was great and highly recommend watching it.

I normally don’t bother watching stuff about other clubs but I was quite surprised with this.

Considering I believe, it was created by a fan, the level of access is very impressive. This was probably down to the fact that the CEO thought it would be a good idea at the time as they would bounce right back to the Premier league. Obviously didn’t work out like that. Gives a good insight into what some of these players are like and their mentality.

Some couldn’t give a damn and were a disgrace. Watching around transfer deadline day was interesting as well. Hopes on certain players coming and then getting swerved at the last minute.

Usually you only see these types of documentaries from teams at the top who win trophy’s. United had one years back about the treble season etc, City had one last season. And of course the self absorbed lot across the park had to have one as well when Brenda was there.

This is obviously the opposite and I think that’s why it’s such a good watch.

I can't agree with that.If I'm out walking the dog and there's a game on, almost any game, I can't help but stop and watch. I'm not a fan of Warnock but quite enjoyed the doco about him. Likewise stuff on Clough. Best of all is 89, a great watch ( and I was there). Same as with books, I've read loads. Best still is Garry Nelson (who i didn't realise was a blue until i read the book).

This looks a well made doco so I think I'm going to enjoy. no spoilers please ;-)

The QPR documentary called "The Four Year Plan" is definitely worth a watch on how not to run a football club. It makes Uncle Bill look savy, like a cross between Bill Gates and Jeremy Corbyn.

It's worth it for the scene with multi-billionaire Bernie Ecclestone wandering around the QPR dressing room in what could be his jammies, complaining about the cost of lucozade and demanding the players are given water instead.

"Nurse, nurse .... He's out of bed again!!!"

In parts it's a very surreal watch...

Not sure if your being serious with that comment mate.
No link I’m afraid it was years ago. All I remember from it was Roy Keane losing his [Poor language removed] over a game of cards and storming out.

The thing that shocked me the most was how amateur Simon Grayson was, his “talks” and training sessions were beyond basic.

Rodwell hasn’t done himself any favours but it’s the fault of whoever gave him the 5 year deal.

Was he injured or did he just refuse to play?
I find it hard to believe they wouldn’t play him given their situation at the time.
Maybe the Sunderland fan on here can shed some light as to why he didn’t get a game.

Rodwell, the man, the myth. The way in which we somehow managed to persuade the footballing world Rodwell was England's next superstar was some feat. Shame it was before the ridiculous transfer fees.
