Yeah he'll score a couple in his first few and you'll all be like: 'Haway man he's a right cracking player, like.'

Then you'll see the real Saha and be like: 'Fookin 'ell man run man! Lazy prick him, like, pet.'

Made me chuckle....

If we get another striker in as well as Saha then Ji or Wickham will probably be sent out on loan.

Wickham is still really young (19, I think?) so that would be a good move for him. Piling pressure on younger strikers because you lack quality senior ones is never a good idea -- trust me!

He'll be injured more than he plays. When he was fit and could be bothered he was great...but he is too old now

But i'd rather have Saha than Bentnar

If I was you mate, I'd be more worried about O'Neil trying to spend more than 12m on Fletcher...the words cart-horse, yard-dog, utter-gash come to mind. I actually think you lot could go down this year, which is annoying as I'd rather see the barcodes go down down down

Scary the fees being touted for him.

He's clearly a decent player but even £10m is embarrassing.

Being released twice in six months is a good indicator of where Louis Saha's career is just now.
If Sunderland want him purely as back up cover for other strikers, that makes sense.
If the suggestion is that he is one of your front line strikers, then I think it could be a long season for you.

If it stops you spending £12million + for someone as average as Fletcher, it's a good deal. I will warn you, he will go have about 5 mysterious injuries a year.

Haha

Bang on the money that mate.

Just wanted to pop by and ask you what you all reckon about Louis Saha?

Louis has just signed a 1 year deal with us, to bolster our attacking options and also to bring in experience up front to bring the younger ones on.
I must stress that Louis shall not be our main or primary striker, and that we will probably get somebody else in before the end of the window. I think Saha shall be used more as an impact sub in the last 20 minutes of games.

What was here like during his time at Everton, and what did you all think of him? Thanks.

Now all we need is Defoe, then I can sleep peacefully at night. :D

Saha is absolutely shite marra. The worst thing about him is that he will try and take on 4 players before he inevitably loses the ball each time he gains possession.

You literally would be better off signing Anichebe, I think he would do well for you'se, and would represent far better value for money than that 12 million or whatever it is that you may be paying for Fletcher.

The truth is that Anichebe has been largely crap over the years, but he was really good last season, with him scoring five premier league goals in just 12 appearances, most of which were off the bench. That's a quality strike rate, and certainly not to be sniffed at.

I think Anichebe is starting to become good, and he will be a bargain for whoever pays 4 or 5 million for him. But I think Moyes wants to keep him, which speaks for itself IMO.

Where's the Anichebe wanted by MON thread?

Sunderland move quickly to secure the signature of Victor Anichebe for £6M (let's not be too greedy like)

Can't complain too much as he's on a free (unless he has ridiculously high wages). Will do a job now and then.
