Just wanted to pop by and ask you what you all reckon about Louis Saha?

Louis has just signed a 1 year deal with us, to bolster our attacking options and also to bring in experience up front to bring the younger ones on.
I must stress that Louis shall not be our main or primary striker, and that we will probably get somebody else in before the end of the window. I think Saha shall be used more as an impact sub in the last 20 minutes of games.

What was here like during his time at Everton, and what did you all think of him? Thanks.

Now all we need is Defoe, then I can sleep peacefully at night. :D

how come you joined in sep 2011 then? anyway

like its been said, he was great on his day, i'm sure he will score a few for you next season, you certainly cant grumble when he was free anyway.

Signed up but never really used to come on here. Only started visiting here now and then leading up to the FA Cup match.

For some extra depth in squad then he will be great. Send him out in the FA/Carling Cup and take the pressure of the main strikers in the prem. Ideal. He scored for Spurs and was injury free, I think if he gets 10 goals for you its worth it.

I just cant see this "One of the best strikers Ive seen in an Everton t shirt" nonsense. He scored a handful of boss goals but in general made our play look worse off for him being in the side. The man's a fraud

He was an absolute disgrace for 80% of the games he played for us in the past 18 months. Was literally stealing a wage yet the manager for some reason wouldn't drop him. Rumour has it he caught Moyes and Hibbert shagging in the manager's office and told Moyes if he doesn't select him every week he's going to the papers about it

Anyway, that's all you need to know. His best was about six years ago, now we'd be better off playing my nan, and she died 15 years ago ffs.

Best of luck for the season mate, sounds like you'll need it.

One of my all time least favourite Everton players, but he has an amazing ability to con a lot of people that he is, was or will be a good player.

He would play 20 games without scoring, and not only not scoring, but missing chances Denis would put away, and then, just when it seemed like everyone was beginning to realise how bad he was, he would score a goal out of nowhere and be everyone's hero again, totally undeserved.

Yakubu used to get slated for being lazy, but Saha was much worse, and with a worse touch, less vision, and offering less to the team as a whole. But Yakubu never played for Man Utd, or France, so he obviously wasn't as good a player.

I would honestly sooner have Beattie, Marcus Bent, McFadden, Denis, Yak, Vellios, Anichebe... you name it...

Not John Spencer though.

This.

As a squad filler on the right wages I see it as a no brainer really.

His experience will help the kids and I think he can still do a job. Trouble was for us he was our main man and I dont think hes that anymore.

Not bad on a free for a club with no strikers. He is/was a technically gifted player, an excellent striker of the ball with a good first touch. Unfortunately, he doesn't chase passes and is faily immobile these days. Not the kind of guy you want on the pitch on a cold January night.
