Summer transfer window.

Anyone else think it is gonna be a tricky window trying to substantially improve on what we have with the budget we're likely to have, without making any significant sales anyway? We've got some good players and will likely only be able to get a few great players. We're miles off attracting elite players, and smashing a more controlled wage budget to afford them.

Say we could only manage 'KDH level players' at Left Back, Right Back and up front, and possibly Grealish for another year at least, would that help push us to the next level of regularly competing for the European places, when likely teams around us will improve as well? I am just not sure.

We may be able to keep up now, but how do we get ahead?

I reckon those level players would pretty much stamp us around Europe, as soon as you do that more money comes in and more players open there eyes to you..

If we did manage to sell Beto & Barry (I really cant see Moyes selling both) and then brought in Thiago & Kroupi...

...surely that is the definition of buying premier league goals?

Putting aside us signing "the new" superstar from overseas, if weve got the cash whats stopping us from making those two moves? Anything?
Thiago will go to a team who regularly gets CL football
That’s probable a guarantee his employer has given him
Kroupi will move into his position and follow the same path
Their sights are set higher than a team struggling to get conference football
Your scenario might work in FIFA or FM
but not in real life

Because they are prepared to take a risk that's why. We still shop in the Top 5 Euro leagues, anyone half decent isn't going to come to us without Euroball and at a price. I know Tiago wasn't cheap but he came from Belgian football, we need to be looking at the likes of there, Portugal, Scandinavia. Our best bet going forward (imo) is a few experienced pro's Pickford, KDH, Tarkowski etc, then a bunch of 21-24 year olds where they have some game experience and something to offer straight away, less of the Diblings and Aznous. Id rather no more under 21's unless they are good enough to start. If we want to sign players like that sign them for the youth team imo.
Are you looking to meet Zat in Morrisons car park
Keep saying stuff like that and that’s where you will end up 😂😂😂😂😂

You don’t know the budget, we spent 130mil last summer, the talk is we will have more this summer. Add in potentially selling fringe players could raise another 60/70mil.

Villa and Newcastle have been in the champions league positions recently and that aren’t full of elite players , even Forest were in with a shout for large parts of last season. Very good recruitment and a top class manager can take you a long way

Exactly. Club Brugge was one of the best teams in Europe last season and Brentford took a punt on their free-scoring striker and it paid off handsomly.

Bodo/Glimt is one of the most impressive sides this season.

When you're demolishing Sporting Lisbon
, seeing off Manchester City at home then going to Atletico Madrid and beating them too, and then comfortably dispatching Inter Milan in the knockout phase... it's no longer a decent run of form, it's a team displaying it's true quality.

A few of their players will get snapped up in the summer and we'll once again be lashing £30 million on further useless gets.
Didn’t age well this

White and Lewis-Skelly fit the profile that Moyes would want
White is a lot more attack minded and proficient going forward than Jake is
I think Jake proved at the weekend he is good enough to Partner Branthwaite in central defence, plus his pace along with Branthwaite’s let’s us play higher up the pitch
Moyes has said a lot of players turned us down in the summer
Still a lot of chaff to be sorted out from the wheat this summer
I’d loan out Dibling and Aznou
Sell McNeill , Patterson ,Tim , Alcaraz Beto.
Keep Grealish ,buy a right winger , put Iliman at 10 and buy a CF
Depending on whether we get Europe or not we may need a few squad fillers
I’d keep Rohl there’s a player in there as proved against Villa
Whether we get Europe or not will have a big say in Moyes fate for next season although the owners may leave him there for another year as they work on strengthening our boardroom , background staff and financial position

Well, they did, 3-0 at home. They just fell apart in the second leg. Doesn't take anything away from their remarkable results in the Champions League this season. I'd be seriously scouting them for the rest of the season (and would have had scouts watching them for the past 3 months).

They’ve sold players in the past to bigger leagues and none of them have done well at all.

They were terrible last night but ultimately a dodgy penalty was needed to help Sporting through

Sell: Barry, Beto, Alcaraz, McNeil
Loan: Dibling, Aznou
Release: Coleman, Mykolenko
Buy: Röhl, ST, ST, ST, RW, RB, LB

One of the strikers can certainly be in the up-and-coming category, just not a £30 million roll of the dice. Something like a £10 million player who has shown promise in the Championship or abroad over a full season and looks to have the character and temperament to fit into our squad.

Surely the club has learned you cannot go into a new season with a mere two options up front in the entire squad.

LB and RB need to be starters, alongside obviously one of the other new ST and the RW.

It's a shame we have a buy clause for Röhl because he's obviously not very good, but that's Everton for you.

White is injury prone also we’d have 3 wide players in the whole team and you’re paying one in the 10 role.
