Summer transfer window.

Well, Spurs won the Europa League this time last season. And these other clubs being referenced, one of which is Sunderland ffs, finished about 6 points ahead of Everton this season. Not some massive gap.

Does are scouting need to improve - yes. But I don’t think you can import Brentford’s model onto Everton, and I still think Everton have far more pulling power than Brentford.

Of course Everton do, loads more pulling power. Brentford are a tiny little club that have never won naff all, never played in Europe, tiny fanbase.

If Everton match Brentford wages then 9 players out of 10 go to Everton.

This is the worry for me with Moyes

While I agree with the logic you’re thinking with

Moyes has a lot of history of buying strikers and not changing the system to play to their strengths

I think Moyes is limited in his attacking capabilities and always will be

Waiting for a team he'll obviously choose to join over us (Spurs, Brentford, Bournemouh, etc.), then we'll put in a symbolic bid to make it look like we were serious, before pivoting to a new deal for Gueye "like a new signing" instead.
When is Gnonto's name going to finally resurface? I feel like it's long overdue.

They have as it stands, we haven't made any measurable success currently.
This is the thing, they’ve had 5 yrs in the prem have been 9th twice, 10th, 13th and 16th. That’s success to Brentford, their fans are over the moon being mid table And earned 33 more points than an Everton team on its knees that has the squad ripped apart. 6 more points than us a season
If the next 5yrs we’re 9th twice, 10th, 13th and 16th. No Europe, no cup runs, I don’t think most of us would call it successful.
But i expect players to crawl over broken class to get to Brentford this season , because of their recent success

Can't be the only one that thinks Liam Delap is inevitable.

He's basically got Moyes written all over him. Struggled at a spell in a top club, physical striker (if anything too physical 90% of the time), 6ft plus which is essential for Moyes. Has had a good season in the prem even if he's been useless this past year.

Loan to buy just seems almost too obvious, think he's a major gamble and never been as high on him as some even last summer but i still wouldn't say he's a worse footballer when on form than Beto or Barry.

He's easily better than both.

If Fulham grab Mckenna than he might want to link back up with him there.
Won't even have to move, Just a wage issue.

About what? How much money hes making in saudi.

but even if he wanted to come back and he's willing to take a 75% pay cut.

Doesn't he needs to be there for another year to avoid paying tax on all of the money hes earned over there? Otherwise he has to pay 50% of what hes earned in tax?

Thats what ive seen reported and if thats true, why would he even think about coming here
Agreed. He didn't come back to improve his chances of playing in a world cup so I don't see him coming back in a year that will cost him an enormous amount of money.

Although he is used to losing money...

I think for a club of Brentfords size that's an achievement to finish above a club of our size in itself .

They are the perfect platform for an upcoming good player to get a move to a bigger club . They've worked through losing their best players, losing Frank, been written off and then like you say still finish above us.

If we finish 6 points above Brentford for the next 5 years that will be measured success, will it be good enough?

No idea because we cant do it currently as we're not as good as them.
