Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

People are quick to say he's finished without even watching a single Milan game. He's twice the player Young is. Every teammate speaks highly of him, he's won more than anyone else in the squad, still playing for England, and available on a free get him in.

I've got no problem with Walkers ability it's just short term again.

A position that's needed sorting for years.

One thing he will bring is experience and leadership we've probably lost with Young.
He's a much, much worse footballer than Young. If obviously a bellend as a person and is slower these days than Young, when his entire game relied on pace. He's been a disaster in Italy by all accounts.

He's not slower than Young in any way whatsoever. Yeah, he's slowing down a bit but let's not be silly. Young is a more capable footballer, but Walker is a better defender.

This will be an incredibly unpopular opinion but it's because of Coleman. His value to a succession of managers as a bridge between the coaching staff and playing staff, it seems to me, has made them reluctant to seriously look at replacing him. I'm not sure that isn't still the case.
Good insight, I’d not considered it but it makes perfect sense when you articulate it like that.

Managers do seem to really love the guy as a dressing room presence.

Ah yes, a ringing endorsement from Milan by running a country mile away from even starting to contemplate a permanent deal.

Everyone debating Walker's pace as if the club wouldn't have the actual numbers from last season to confirm how much he's actually declined in that regard. If he's free and willing to join for a year, then I don't see it being a bad thing at all given all the priorities we have throughout the squad. Worst case at the moment would still see JOB playing there with Tarks and Branth in the middle, and we're still pretty solid at the back. Calm down.

I would play O’Brien at right back ahead of this crippled version of Kyle Walker any day of the week.

Stop gaps sure - but we've been broke so can't replace a bad bet in Patterson. Maybe we can now ? Or Jake will continue or Nathan gets a chance.
If our options next year for RB are O'Brien, Patterson and Coleman then it will have been a very poor window for us. A CB, a man who cannot stay fit and a player who has failed to win a place under multiple managers is not a plan for a key position.

I have, in that he’s turbo crap.

I wouldn't mind being that crap.
