I would play O’Brien at right back ahead of this crippled version of Kyle Walker any day of the week.
Well it’s certainly good that we have that option. Perhaps that’s even still the plan for next season given how well he showed there. If Walker is essentially Young’s replacement then he is fine to bring in.

Finite resources I guess - this defers the problem for a year.

Walker is an improvement on the right back options we've had available this season, even if he's past his best.

I'd have preferred we address the position properly, but not every position is going to be one we can sort for the long term this summer
I don’t think it does defer the problem for another year. If anything it creates a bigger problem as he’ll be on big wages and expected to play. His legs are gone and he’s not even an improvement on having O’Brien playing there out of position

Is it written in the bylaws that our right back must be over the age of 35? Am I missing something?

When you say "legs are gone", do you think he's going to be any slower than Young and Coleman?

We can’t spend £30 million on every player we need to bring in lads. There are going to be squad players, stop gaps and punts.

Might I suggest a player with a very similar name that might fit the bill of squad player, who would also cost significantly less wages, give us more versatility, can actually still run around, and can play for more than 1 season?

I’m sure there are other right backs we can sign? Or is that all we’re looking for - faster than Young and Coleman?

May as well look for someone who got more than 1 assist to replace Harrison whilst we’re at it
I don't actually want to sign him mate

But playing devil's advocate, I can understand why (if finances need to stretch to 8 to 10 players this summer) this is an option they'd consider. He's clearly past his best, but it's essentially a swap of Walker for Young Vs what our options were in the position last season and to me that represents an upgrade (albeit not as much of one as I was hoping we'd make).
