Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

That's not a good thing though.

Having said all that, of course he's raw. Still scored 11 in La Liga and physically can play in the PL. Giving him 5 minutes off the bench won't help him, and taking minutes away from Beto when he plays like he did won't hurt us.
No, I don't think it's a good thing.

I'm wondering if I should just be interpreting the 'raw' from the article as meaning rubbish...he's looked rubbish in training.

Everton have a long recent history of signing 'raw' players, straq, niasse, that young french lad that played for Moyes....sure there's a fair few more.

I guess you could still describe Beto as raw but he has some attributes that compensate. Decent when he gets it played where he likes it - to run on to, powerful....'can' finish.

Get this feeling this lad is well higher in the raw charts than Beto. If you watch his goals in Spain alot of them seem quite lucky. Admittedly he seems to have a knack of being in the right place to score them.

Think it was the other guy aswell orta just a mess this summer but feel going forward would be easier as wont be such a change.
They both come out in the press pointing the finger at each other.

This summer hasn't gone to plan for us and with Mark Douglas reporting problems in recruitment you've got to ask the question, because he's got previous at Leeds

The only way he’ll learn is by playing, typical Everton this, we never give youth a chance, he’ll end up leaving us in two years for £12m and go on and have a steering career elsewhere.
Or like most of our foreign strikers nosedive and never to be seen again. They very rarely leave for a sterling career.

Which article? We sold the womens team...and that is at least 60 millions profits on the books...then you have goodison park...unsure if it was or not included. If included, you'll imagine that 60 millions would be significantly increased. IF they keep using PSR as an excuse, it does look to me more and more that it is exactly that...TFG dont want to spend the money.
The Mark Douglas article referencing Barry.

"Alternatives are understood to include former Burnley man Josh Brownhill, who is a free agent and scored 18 goals in the Championship last season. But with the club still needing to be mindful of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR), his wage demands might yet sink that deal."

PSR will always limit our spending, but just based on the players we're after, we still have money to spend and it's not been spent yet.

Yeah clearly we have money to spend but definitely we can't spend as much as we want to. We need 4 or 5 signings and everything is currently suggesting we can do 1 perm and will have to make the rest loans.

I think that reads "we can't have a 100k/week midfielder sitting on our bench for four seasons."

As far as the spending, we all knew that. We all knew we were going to need the loan market to help the squad this season.

We should be able to comfortably spend 200 millions this summer using the "chelsea" accounting trick...
