Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Forest's and Palace's wide players are also technical.

Main reason our counters break down is not pace but poor decisionmaking. You could have Usain Bolt in his prime and it wouldn't help when the guy with the ball either doesn't pass to him to misplaces the pass. Since Moyes has come in, I haven't thought pace is the issue, we have had promising looking counters with our players getting forward and then Doucoure or Beto looses the ball when it looked easier to pass to a free teammate.

N'diaye is quick enough but again, doesn't help much if we can't play to ball to him in space. He also has technique and ability to go past his man.
I actually said that too mate, I agree with you Doucoure and Beto lack composure that is as big as pace. But also Garner doesn't playmake much, Harrison has one assist, Mcneil is slow but can deliver a ball, Lindstrom hasn't produced and isn'trapid. Ndiaye is the one of the forwards I would keep as you say he is quick but also has composure and dribblings skills when he is fully fit.

The point is though whatever we say about composure, better technique and vision which we definetly need, we don't have rapid pace to take us up the field. Harrison, Mcneil and Lindstrom don't have pace yes pace alone isn't enough Traore has pace but no end product, you need composure, cutting edge and decision making too but if you don't have the kind of explosive pace Elanga, Sarr, Eze et al have then you don't counter as much or as well. And our side lacks it badly. Bournemouth are top ten without a genuine playmaker but three fast and mobile forwards. Also at full back we don't have speed could be why we are linked with Lamptey today.

Leeds back in prem so no excuse now for them not to take Harrison back.

Also surely not another loan, would be a permanent deal and do not want that one little bit as then stuck with him for 3/4 years and he probably becomes another Keane/Holgate you can't shift with a change of manager.

Need to learn from past errors especially with someone only on loan.
Yup, forgot about Leeds. Phew.

I see we keep getting linked with that Lego Headed Left back from Leicester.

He was ok when we played them away, obviously none of them covered themselves in glory at GP.
Really hope not dont mind going after players that have been relegated but this season all three teams have really poor swuads. Apart from delap wouldnt be anyone i would try for

Looking at Roma’s transfer history, I think it will be:

Alcaraz buyout
Gana, Doucoure extensions.
moderate money (£25-35M) on a striker;
lower money (£10-25M) on a central midfielder, right midfielder, and a right back;
value buys/free agents/loans for a left midfielder, center half, left back, and keeper.

Around £110M spend before sales. Not sure who we’d sell with all the contracts/loans expiring. Don’t think we let Brant go. Don’t think we sell Beto, but maybe.
That probably works out at 30mil next season. Think we will spend more than that , well we need too
